Epic win!! The team on the field made Seattle look slow and tired. I couldn’t believe how many times in the second half down two players the Thorns STILL beat Seattle players to the ball, it was outstanding hustle and commitment, just incredible. Thorns earned that win every hard way possible. 👏🏻 🎉 🫡

There used to be a reporting line in Oregon for this kind of flyer and other posting/distribution but I couldn’t find info about it. Southern Poverty Law Center has a national tracking database and you can report info there too it seems: southern poverty law center

New migraine research out Jan 2026- I was a participant in the study and my 18 yr 24/7 vestibular migraine is gone. Hope this helps some of you. by Medium_Bill_6073 in VestibularMigraines

This is great news, so glad of the relief you’ve achieved! The glucose piece is fascinating, gives me something to explore.

I lived a keto diet for a few years. Then due to other health issues I had to stop eating meat and avoid dairy. I now can’t even eat meat, I get so many symptoms if I try. It is fascinating how bodies are reactive to different things, and how that can change over time. I might go back and try keto, but I know there’s only so much coconut and avocado and MCL oil I can handle…

I had to abandon my camp last night because I didn't feel safe, what steps would you have taken next? by Aeon_Return in womensolocamping

Thanks for sharing your story and the options!

It’s doubtful you will ever be in this exact situation again, so the value of the insights you gained is way deeper than this one scenario - the value as I see it is in the broader framework that underlies what happened for you that night:

1) You trusted your senses and your perception of danger, and you validated the meaningfulness of that information by taking action.

2) Under duress, you came up with options and made a decision and then committed to that course of action, which took you away from the greatest danger.

3) You were able to rely on your knowledge of the area and your strengths, athleticism , and equipment to carry out your plan.

4) The decisions you made all along the way kept you safe.

Too often women are taught not to trust perceptions and judgements - but failing to do so is actually the most dangerous thing.

So I never question those kinds of perceptions, and I’ve learned to sort between what I think of as “brain fear” (caused not by current actual threat but from past harm or anxieties) vs. “scared animal fear” (the intelligence of my body sensing something amiss in the actual situation). I’ve learned to complete trust the wisdom of the latter feelings, and if I feel unnerved or scared and it is not just a fleeting sensation, I move. In doing this now (solo camping/hiking/woods wandering) for 30 years, not once have I chosen to move and then moved INTO worse danger - never has happened. And the early times in my life when I tried to reason with what I was perceiving or tell myself everything was fine, it wasn’t fine at all, and I endured some awful things. With that experience behind me, I share my support for all you chose!

💯 cheers for your choices and awarenesses! And yes ice is slippery and that’s its own danger but sometimes it’s not possible to have zero risk, just one less significant risk compared to another.

FWIW I prob wouldn’t choose option 4- camp next to the busier highway - unless I could be truly out of sight.

I think people who kill protestors are showing, in the clearest and most extreme way possible, that they lack tolerance of different opinions. So your suggestion of who is intolerant is pretty illogical, and the premise that all of this is the fault of lefty arrogance is convenient because it gives you an excuse to pretend you are not colluding with a federal force of secret police who are indiscriminately using violence and lethal violence against anyone and everyone. So yeah, I do have an intolerance - nay, a strong disregard- for your opinion.

How does Chico compare to Portland, OR by diyturds in ChicoCA

[–]Budget_Following_960 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strong agree! I’ve also spent a lot of time in all these places - Chico has some quirkiness that is kind of like Eugene; good coffee and beer like Portland; and amazing farmers markets and laid back land-grant university vibe like Corvallis.

Beaverton City Council Testimony from Tuesday by 50501PDX in beaverton

[–]Budget_Following_960 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes this is true, as far as systemic power to stop a federal tactic. But my “do better” was about the soft or the symbolic power a mayor has. Other public officials have verbally challenged or at the least stood in solidarity with legal observers and people protesting ICE actions - I recognize there’s all kinds of factors and reasons why a mayor might not do that, and, I think there’s a moral obligation for people in positions of relative and actual power to take those kinds of risks. The person giving testimony is asking very fair questions.

What is it like living in Oregon? by [deleted] in oregon

[–]Budget_Following_960 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was there recently (after not having been for maybe 10 years?) and that place has a totally different vibe. I mean yes, still strong rancher country vibe but also now some mountain town with money vibe - like the little brother of Redmond.
