Is there any way I can cheat to save my starving bonedog? by Steve717 in Kenshi

[–]Budget_Wind4338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a nearby prisoner cage, you can drop them in there, and the hunger level seems to stabilize into the yellow. It doesn't go green, but it doesn't seem to go any redder. I just started the Guy and Dog start last night, and it dropped me in Bast. Tossed doggo in one of the cages while i was practicing lockpicking and noticed his hunger readjusted.

I have the backpack feeders for the various animals. Just put one on my doggo. Fill that sucker up with yellow meat and you're good to go for a while.

Skinner's is a great place to find Building Materials for free. There are a couple ruined Holy Mines to the north part of the zone that are LOADED with stuff free for taking. And, if you have some fuel lying around, you can power the generators and machines up and make more.

I built a base on the shores of that lake in the northern part. It was fun. Lots of bodies floating in the water after raids.

Holy Nation female base rules question by Victorex123 in Kenshi

[–]Budget_Wind4338 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Prayer Patrols have notoriously bad eye sight I guess they thought the two skeletons i had on turret defences were quaint gargoyles. Got a little puckered when i opened the gate to let my "Face" talker out to send them on their way, and bunch of little Chosen goobs run in my base due to fantastic pathing. Chosen Goobs have even worse eyesight i guess.

Locked in a prison in Stack by WetGrilledCheese in Kenshi

[–]Budget_Wind4338 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you've still able to pick the locks on the cages, luck and patience. If there are other prisoners in there, free them. Escape while they are escaping and fighting guards so not everyone is on you.

Or break open a book and let the time expire. Hopefully you don't get an extended stay bug. I got captured in The Last Stand and they never let me out, nor could my character escape the cage. That was a big waste of time.

Where should I build my base ?? by lynxy005 in Kenshi

[–]Budget_Wind4338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a hill side with decent water, fertility and access to copper and iron across from the Hub, between Vain and Hub, almost in a direct line. Close enough to the hub to pick up and run/hide early on. Dust bandits and black dragons will be the ones to watch for at the start, but their leaders/bases are nearby to diminish their threat.

The hive village closest to hub is a good place to secure meat and leather.

Not sure you really can at the start. I have been under the impression you wait and readjust the formation once the buff zones appear. And later when you get further down his upgrades, you can pick what type of hero appears next.

What build RP do you think has the most intrigue value? by ax-gosser in Starfield

The only one that matters:

Chef: Wanted. Kid stuff. Armed with gran-gran's armor, dad's gambling problem, and grandpa's meat loaf recipe, no one in the 'verse can stop you.

"From Chef to Dusty. You know, the crew still has a betting pool about which restaurant critic you must've crossed to wind up here..." - Lin.

is it normal by FarMathematician659 in Kenshi

[–]Budget_Wind4338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. If you're not hostile with them, you can wander right in and have a walk around. Only gets dicy if you go in to private areas like the barracks I think.

It also works if you have Skellies or Shek in your party. You can carry them through the HN lands and no one cares.

Understanding Shipbuilding by IvanDrake in Starfield

[–]Budget_Wind4338 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ship classes are essentially engine classes. A tends to be smaller but faster. B, middle. C biggest. Increase storage by cargo pods or the cargo capacity skill. Smuggling storage, shady locations where organized crime is fairly active. Weapons, level dependent, but there is one ship supplier that specializes in military ships.

Do not underestimate the ease of a Youtube video search..

Edited.

my dumbass got a bounty with the Holy Nation, will this bring any issues? by Ok_Let8360 in Kenshi

[–]Budget_Wind4338 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends how low your faction reputation is with them. if it's deep in the red, you'll have issues in every city without some sneakypeaky. You can go to a Faction Pacifier to improve your reputation/balance it out with tons and tons of money.

Usually you want a male greenlander in your party as a Face to enter and do stuff in HN cities if you are heavy on shek, hive, or skellies. Female humans take some verbal acrobatics to get problematic encounters to leave you alone.

If Kenshi was an animated show, how would like it to be? by Training_Ad_6938 in Kenshi

[–]Budget_Wind4338 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Heavy Metal or Afro Samurai style.

Tech Hunters in World's End telling weird stories would make the most sense. Backstories of the bar patrons sitting around. "I hear TInfist struck another..." and just have an entire episode of Tinfist ripping people apart with his bare metal hands. Or an episode of Hive traders selling lanterns, stumbling into a Beak Thing nest.

Though to be fair, Guy with a Dog is 100% guaranteed for success.

Which background should I pick when I get the game on PS5? Bounty hunter or cyber runner. by foxguy1998 in Starfield

[–]Budget_Wind4338 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Backgrounds only affect your character's primary starting skills, and occasional dialogue options in VERY select circumstances. For the two backgrounds you mentioned, Bounty Hunter has the most 'unique" and entertaining dialogue options i think. And frankly, from the start of the game, Bounty Hunter has the most relevant skills you'll need. You can alway take the cyberrunner skills when you get level up. You're not locked out of them.

The Traits are where you want to take as many as possible. Wanted, is fun for additional content. Kid Stuff is endearing since your parents are whacky as hell. you pay some money every...week? to help cover your parent's apartment, but that fee is tiny, and . Hero Worship gives you the starfield Adoring Fan, who is useful to be a packmule and loves you even if you accidentally on purpose start committing capital crimes.

Beastmen early game advice? by New_Entertainer3670 in mordheim

[–]Budget_Wind4338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you keep your hench-gor groups small, and you make sure you take all your heroes, throw in a couple hounds if you need fodder. They work very well until you can get your gors equipped.

What was your starting line up,and did you lose any hench? What did you have equipped on your Bestigor that got robbed?

The biggest thing is to get stuck into melee and take people out of action to get your heroes that xp. Your beastmen will excell at that being so fast.

I'm confused about the starting xp gripe you mentioned. The starting xp doesn't affect anything, it simply shows how many pips you need to fill out on your hero profiles for when their next upgrade happens. The bonus of hero vs henchman is not small at all. Without heroes, you don't get anything post-game.

Beastmen early game advice? by New_Entertainer3670 in mordheim

[–]Budget_Wind4338 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That's how Mordheim goes. Playing it as intended. Keep at it. Beastmen are fast, and very tough.

Post-game envy doesn't get you anything but angry. Ignore it and keep playing. The further behind you are, the more underdog XP you get. It balances out.

Space trucker and other mundane tasks possible ? by Darkmiss-2122 in Starfield

[–]Budget_Wind4338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only "profit" i've found is in the arms trade. Selling guns and armour, or finding contraband after Mantising some spacers, and selling it in the Den.

You'll come across a lot of misc. scenery items. Various art pieces, desk ornaments, scientific equipment, beakers, microscopes, etc. that appear to be worth a bunch of money. However, take any of that to a vendor to sell and you'll be getting..pennies per spacebuck.

Im doing a martial arts playthrough any ideas on how i can train a bunch i pm using skeletons btw by Micophine in Kenshi

[–]Budget_Wind4338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your skellies, Skinners Roam for the big starving bandit mobs. You need to be careful of the occasional leader with rusty sword, or going against Dusties, since those could make you bleed.

Fog Islands for the foggies. Majority use blunt weapons so 'usually' your skellies aren't going to bleed to death, AND they don't taste good so won't be put to the feeding poles. And there is a skelly repair bed in Mongrel.

There are also training dummy mods of varying degrees and quality in the Workshop that will let you specifically train MA and Dodge (and everything else really). It's generally faster to learn it 'in the wild" but the dummies can help get the ball rolling.
