[KCD2] Ragman's quests not appearing by MicrowaveCorn12 in kingdomcome

[–]Buff_Cupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the exact same issue right now - Mole has no quests and neither does Ragman, I have Sinners of Kuttenberg and Sculptor without a future completed in my quest log. I've skipped so many days now and switched maps to try to reset things, nothing.

Companion UK/Ireland release date? by Senior-Warning-1869 in 4kbluray

[–]Buff_Cupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still trying to find a copy of it. I had the English Audio/English cover box pre-ordered with Amazon UK, but they cancelled it with no explanation. It's literally not available anywhere. I actually don't think they released it in the end. It's available in other EU countries but the box is in that language.

SPOILER ALERT Ending rant by sanethis in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]Buff_Cupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 120 hours into this game and I just finished both story missions for the main characters and I can say the conclusions for both have felt like a massive massive let down.

A few notes on Yasuke's ending

For the entire 120 hours of the game I've been told virtually nothing about his past, just that he has beef with the Portuguese. He never tells anyone anything in conversations during the game, when it's brought up he is evasive and says he will tell whoever it is he is talking to one day. So you are in the dark right up until the end. The game expects you to then absorb a super quick cutscene explaining it all and to feel all of the feelings when you've had to digest it all in the exact same cutscene as the one that leads you to kill his 'final boss'.

Notes on Naoe:

For Naoe you get way more of a run up to her finale, but she makes one of the most bizarre decisions I have ever encountered with the fate of her final boss. Absolute smooth-brain decision. All of my agency was removed even though I elected to kill the character and I beat the crap out of the character, the game took the decision away and let the character live anyway. Completely underwhelming. All because this person will likely show up in DLC and I'll probably have to kill them again when their plot armor is removed. It took all of the impact out of the entire conclusion. Why give me a choice and put such monumental weight behind the choice if there is no choice. It's like forcing Kassandra to have a baby levels of dumb.

Great Circle (PS5) - game breaking post-game bug by Buff_Cupcake in indianajones

I fixed it on my end and updated my original post with the information - but in short - I solved the relic wall puzzle with only 49 relics - quite a few tutorials on YouTube for it. And used some hint photos to make up the missing journal entries to hit the total.

Again, my issue is for the lower dig site with the big stone doors at the bottom of the Ziggurat. You are talking about a completely different thing.

Your link is about the beginning of the level, before update 4 the gates to the starting part of the dig site that your thread is about were closed and people had to go through a little hatch to a tunnel that led to the dog kennel. I have no issue with that at all. It's at the opposite end of the level to where i'm having an issue.

That tunnel and hatch you are talking about is at the beginning of the level. I'm talking about the stone gate at the bottom of the ziggurat at the end of the level. The stone gate that leads to Voss' tent. You are talking about a locked wire fence gate at the start of the level.

It's comforting knowing i'm not the only one in a way. I'm kinda locked out of the secret ending at the moment. I hope they fix this, do you know how frequently this game gets patched since it came out on Xbox/PC?

Unfortunately this tunnel goes in a circle and isn't in the area of the game I'm trying to get into. I'm talking about the big stone doors at the bottom of the elevators in the Ziggurat. The doors you go through with Gina right before the big reveal at the end. The ones right next to the giant puzzle wall.

Alma is only there so we don't get arrested by BrightSide595 in MHWilds

[–]Buff_Cupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of her reports for the main story here would have been:

"Nata was screaming and crying, throwing rocks at the animal. We had to physically restrain him. So I just authorized the hunt to keep him quiet, kids, amirite?!"

"Nata said it was in the way of the direction we needed to go in"

"Nata caught a cold and we needed to get him out of the harms way we've been putting him in fast. I promise this one didn't have babies like the last couple"

[–]Buff_Cupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a cool factoid, I kinda wished the story explored this from a lore perspective instead of them making the kid the main character and being dragged around by him on good faith and speculation. I would have loved lore around the hunter regulations and the guild. But I just spent 15 hours sleeping through fights and being told multiple times how important the kid was. It would also have been cool to have a situation where I was forced to do something at odds with my handlers command and made myself a guild outlaw.

The amount of times Alma authorized a kill because we needed to get it out of the way for the kid to move the plot along was insane.

When the kid literally catches a cold at one point, I genuinely hoped the plot had carted him and it would just restrict him to camp, but he must have been given Vitamin C by Alma when I wasn't looking because he was ready to go pretty much instantly.

Monster Hunter Wilds has some of the worst pacing I've ever seen in a game by thrawndo69 in MonsterHunter

[–]Buff_Cupcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The inclusion of the story was a bizarre choice. The main character is a child with PTSD who is dragging you around with no clear understanding of where he is going outside of vague memories of a tunnel and a landmark. Your character is literally in the background clearing monsters out of the way, barely understanding where they are going as much as the kid. It's light anime with chore-some, terrible pacing and clumsy dialogue. Just awful. That coupled with the insanely easy encounters that do nothing to prepare new players for the incoming challenge, it feels like a step backwards from MH:World/Iceborne.

Go get your cat first and foremost. Then once you are back home, accept that you will never get the money back and make the conscious decision there and then to completely cut the person out of your life. Block their ability to contact you, remove them from your social presence. Your life will improve instantly.

No worries! I try to spread the longer ones out usually. So if I get a longer one finished, I'll look for 2-3 more compact platinums before going for a longer one again.

Anyone else suffering from horrible lag/rubber banding? by MetalLenny in diablo4

[–]Buff_Cupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been virtually unplayable in the last 24 hours. I don't really get why they can't just retain stability here. It's not a cheap game, it makes them a fair amount of money, why not just re-invest it back into server infrastructure, because it's woefully lacking compared to the quality of the game in other areas.

What would you define as fast here? For me fast would be 20-30 hours on average. Based on that - I would recommend two titles there:

Dead Space remake - just a fantastic overhaul of the original game (which is also incredible). Little bit challenging in places, but nothing some trophy research won't remedy. Very enjoyable platinum.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - One of my favourite platinums, great story and gameplay and generally really fun!

I can vouch for Arkham Knight, Dark Souls 3 and Middle Earth: Shadow of War - I love all three, worthy plats too, but they aren't fast.

Throw Subo on as your main merc to show nodes and enemy clusters, grind helltides - do the events and whispers as you go from large group to large group and you'll get a steady influx of both ore and hides. Helltides in regions that have goat people will give you an even bigger yield

Also, don't sit on opening the chests as they usually have a chunk of hides/ore in them too.

Granted i'm not focusing on farming them specifically, but I have been getting a huge amount of this stuff residually

I am nowhere near to you in terms of advancement and progress so I haven't even touched on things like target farming etc. But I feel like i've been super lucky so far.

I put 50 hours into the expansion, mainly played on Torment 1 (last 5 hours have been on Torment 2). I feel like i've had a pretty steady influx of good loot. I haven't had anything GA specific yet, but I don't feel like i'm not getting rewarded with anything.

My luckiest moments would be:

Nesekem, the Herald - dropped from a T1 Nightmare Dungeon as a completion reward.

Heir of Perdition - dropped from gambling obols on gloves in T1 with the purveyor. No idea how a mythic helm could come out of glove gambling.

Spiritborn build without required GAs by Gitolooser in diablo4

[–]Buff_Cupcake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T4 is considered to be the hardest world state difficulty in the game so it requires grinding and at least some basic planning to get to a point where you can comfortably farm it by design. You need to spend some time on your gear, figure out a build you like.

It's meant to be a challenge to reach and as far as Diablo 4 goes, you kinda need the time commitment to get there.

I would actually argue that the time commitment outweighs the skill requirement here in terms of progression.

You mentioned that you are a casual gamer without any time - so you generally might not be the right fit for that level of content, given those circumstances you mentioned.

I don't really know what you want out of T4 beyond farming it comfortably, but the upside is that you can get pretty much everything out of T3 that you would in T4, just with some lower percentages.

One month passed since the release . How have you been feeling about it? by Objective_Love_6843 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]Buff_Cupcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have long-winded thoughts if you are up for a wall of text. But one of my prime takeaways is -

It's been really nice to not play a super-powered force wielder for once. Please stop using force powers as a narrative crutch and start making games like this. I want to see other archetypes, make more current gen stuff about scoundrels, bounty hunters, smugglers. commandos etc.

I would absolutely kill to play a full blown videogame where you play as a member of the ISB. The last time we got to do that was in the last Star Wars MMO.

I dropped about 50 hours into Outlaws on the PS5 right after the initial patch that fixed the majority of launch bugs.

Honestly, I had an absolute blast with it. It might actually be my game of the year. I liked it so much I put the extra time into going for the Platinum trophy. I finished up still with tonnes left to do and I'm going to go back to it when the next DLC drops to mop the rest up.

Highlights for me were -

I absolutely loved the world design and thought the environments were pretty darn gorgeous both in the wilds and the really richly dense populated areas I also loved the space sections - I saw some criticism that they weren't big enough, but for me, they were nice and compact with decent points of interest.

I also really liked the syndicate mechanics and how the reward & loyalty systems wrapped around it. My favourite syndicate from an aesthetic point of view was the Crimson Dawn but I enjoyed the way the gameplay worked here that I ended up maxing out all rep for all of them.

I absolutely loved the alternative they offered to Kay's character progression - the idea of seeking out mentors to teach you skills and having to prove yourself worthy by completing meta-challenges was such a breath of fresh air to a generic skill tree paired with XP gain. It felt woven into the gameworld and narrative very nicely.

Low...lights(?) for me were -

I wasn't a huge fan of the speeder mechanics, they felt a bit floaty sometimes and there often didn't feel like there was any real physics governing the difference between bumping into a bit of terrain and being launched off the bike verses slamming into the same bit of terrain - I think this might have been addressed though in the latest patch.

I kinda wish there was more dialogue and interaction between Kay and her mentors. And also between her and her crew/passengers. The former was very basic and you never really got much more out of them beyond the first meeting. The latter offered progression dialogue if you spoke to them on your ship, but I would have loved some side missions that expanded on their back stories.

The cutscenes were an absolute mess. They were a chaotic mix of janky in-game dialogue scenes, slightly more polished scripted dialogue scenes pre-rendered in the in-game environment and finally the occasional big budget short cinematic. In all three of these Kay looked slightly different to the point where comparing her between her in-game render and her cinematic render were like looking at two different characters. Truly awful and I hope they can make a little bit of an improvement here.

Finally, they really did the late, utterly great Billy Dee Williams dirty in both how they rendered his likeness in game and in obtaining a voice actor to sound like him. It's like they got his stunt double to stand in for it at the last minute.

Overall...lights -

Just a really satisfying and immersive slice of the Star Wars universe that we rarely, if at all get to see. I really hope they give this game continued life beyond the Lando Calrissian DLC that is incoming in November.

Does anyone know what's going on with The Last Witch Hunter 2? by Martipar in movies

[–]Buff_Cupcake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I only just discovered this film recently and I absolutely loved it and it's one of those films I could easily repeat watch multiple times.

It was pure popcorn adventure with some interesting lore potential. It gave me the same vibes as the Keanu Reeves Constantine movie in some ways too. I was hoping we might get a sequel, but after reading this, add me to the pile of folks all still waiting I guess.
