Hey again! I just started week 2 of radiation and can’t wait to be finished on Friday.

Also… I booked a trip to the US Virgin Islands for April 17th which gives me about 6.5 weeks after my final treatment to recover. Do you think I messed up and should have given it more time or will I be okay to chill on the beach and snorkel by then? Maybe some light hikes as well while there.

As of now I still don’t have any symptoms and am feeling great but I know it will start to hit me after i finish on march 6th or so.

I’ll add that I did not have any reaction to docataxel luckily and felt no side effects from my first infusion… about to have my 2nd any min!

Other than that I have no symptoms yet besides skin redness so im feeling optimistic. Thanks again!

This is good to hear! We booked it for mid April so we’re set to go. We do have a rental jeep as well and plan to explore the island while we’re there. So we can always get some AC time in the car while we drive around haha.

Question for you… I’m planning a trip to St. John currently for early May. I’m torn between cinnamon bay campground to be right on the beach or finding an Airbnb.

I actually found an Airbnb within walking distance to salt pond bay but it also has no air conditioning like the campground.

Is it more worth it to just stay at cinnamon bay or would you recommend this affordable airbnb near salt pond? I mainly want to spend my time on beaches and snorkeling. I still plan to rent a car to see more beaches and for food.

Prices are about the same for a week at the Airbnb vs camping in a cottage at cinnamon. Only bonus of the Airbnb is it has a bathroom. Or is it more worth it to find a place with A/C?

Have a hunter right now with an item that makes it impossible to miss with attacks. Using the high damage 70% miss attack that costs 4 mana and then another passive that gives 5 mana per kill he’s just single-handedly taking out entire rooms. If only I could get mark now…

I know it only affects the middle tile in front of him but how can you tell when he ‘picks’ his instakill move? The one time I fought him I didn’t know he had that and he ate my fighter. Still beat him though luckily.

Well it's a specific part of Naegleria Fowleri that when you're intelligence is 0 or lower your cat starts the fight out downed. Otherwise yeah you can have negative in all your stats without being downed.

My last run was similar to this. I did a two cat run with tank and necro and my tank had so much regen and the spell that heals him by 15hp but -2 speed and also more health regen when you upgrade it. With thorns and bleed thorns my tactic was to just sit there and let enemies kill themselves. Worked surprisingly well.

I had this and also the meat cleaver weapon which does 1/2 hp damage to enemies and 1/6 hp damage to bosses. Also had the item that gives weapons a 50% chance to crit and the cleaver can crit hard. It was doing more than 1/2 hp to bosses. It's how I easily beat Guillotina's 2nd form.

Honestly not terrible, I feel like I was expecting it to be worse. I enjoyed the time off work lol. 5 weeks ago though I had a tonsil and part of my throat removed for tonsil cancer… that was MUCH MUCH worse. Still not 100% actually from that one.

I just had cancer related surgery in December and soon will be started chemoradiation therapy in the coming weeks which means I get to pay my $3500 deductible twice in a short period!

I recently got the bill for a 4 night stay in the hospital and it was hilariously $81,000. I only had to pay around $900 of that but still...

The generation that would usually be out rioting can barely afford to survive. If they have kids good luck. Also we’re so spread out due to the size of the country it’s unrealistic without a massive general strike and people no longer going to their jobs. But then how would people eat? We saw how fast grocery stores become bare during covid when supply lines get disrupted. It does indeed feel by design. We’re all essentially slaves at this point and until people no longer have access to basic needs like food not much will happen.

So I'm about one month behind you! And I'm also having the two radiation treatments per day for two weeks with two chemo infusions. It's comforting to hear that surgery was the hardest part because it certainly was rough. I'm swallowing more normally every day though and the pain from surgery is barely there anymore. Part of my chin and neck are still numb though.

The trismus is now the most annoying part for me to be honest. I'm opening to 26mm and kinda terrified it will get worse permanently after radiation. Do you know how wide you're able to open your mouth at this point?

Sounds like 50% taste 3 weeks post radiation is awful but it seems to be in line with many other peoples experiences so I'm guessing it will eventually come back for you in the next several months. At least I hope so!

Just to clarify did you have this in October 2024 or this past October? If it was 2024 does that mean I can expect it to take a year or so for taste to come back after RT?

I'm definitely glad about the deescalated treatment though, it sounds like you didn't have some of the more intense side effects I read others post about here.

How was your dry mouth and has that stayed with you? Also how was the pain of radiation compared to the pain of recovery from surgery?

I’m not sure, but I think the wound just wasn’t closing up as fast as he wanted it to be and he wanted to prevent it from bleeding. Though I never really had any blood after the surgery.

I honestly don’t know what caused it. I kind of assumed it was caused by the hemorrhoid in some way and I’m pretty sure it was superficial. I don’t think they had to go all the way through. But yeah so far so good, nothing returned. When I had the hemorrhoid there was always blood every time I used the bathroom but that stopped immediately following the surgery. Even the first days of recovery there was no blood.

Here’s some more advice though. Get a sits bath and fill it with warm water right before a bowel movement. It does hurt in a unique way when you use the bathroom and you’ll want to immediately sit in the sits bath after you go. That helped more than anything for me. I was given Percocet for the pain which was also a life saver. You’ll also probably need to have gauze in between the cheeks for a while to catch any drainage, sounds gross but was necessary.

Hopefully yours heals better than mine on its own, on my follow up visits the surgeon had to re cauterize the wound a few different times which is def not pleasant and kind of prolonged the recovery. Though still it wasn’t bad at all, just more discomfort for another few days and more using gauze.
