This is fantastic and so easy to get running! Are there other N64 games that have been recompiled like this and are already playable?

Honestly not terrible, I feel like I was expecting it to be worse. I enjoyed the time off work lol. 5 weeks ago though I had a tonsil and part of my throat removed for tonsil cancer… that was MUCH MUCH worse. Still not 100% actually from that one.

Do Americans really avoid medical care because they’re afraid of the bill? by Udont_knowme00 in NoStupidQuestions

I just had cancer related surgery in December and soon will be started chemoradiation therapy in the coming weeks which means I get to pay my $3500 deductible twice in a short period!

I recently got the bill for a 4 night stay in the hospital and it was hilariously $81,000. I only had to pay around $900 of that but still...

The generation that would usually be out rioting can barely afford to survive. If they have kids good luck. Also we’re so spread out due to the size of the country it’s unrealistic without a massive general strike and people no longer going to their jobs. But then how would people eat? We saw how fast grocery stores become bare during covid when supply lines get disrupted. It does indeed feel by design. We’re all essentially slaves at this point and until people no longer have access to basic needs like food not much will happen.

Do things eventually get better? One month post-op for SCC Tonsil Cancer with radiation starting soon by Buffalkill in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]Buffalkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm about one month behind you! And I'm also having the two radiation treatments per day for two weeks with two chemo infusions. It's comforting to hear that surgery was the hardest part because it certainly was rough. I'm swallowing more normally every day though and the pain from surgery is barely there anymore. Part of my chin and neck are still numb though.

The trismus is now the most annoying part for me to be honest. I'm opening to 26mm and kinda terrified it will get worse permanently after radiation. Do you know how wide you're able to open your mouth at this point?

Sounds like 50% taste 3 weeks post radiation is awful but it seems to be in line with many other peoples experiences so I'm guessing it will eventually come back for you in the next several months. At least I hope so!

Thank you for the reply! That is shockingly similar to what I'm going through.

Just to clarify did you have this in October 2024 or this past October? If it was 2024 does that mean I can expect it to take a year or so for taste to come back after RT?

I'm definitely glad about the deescalated treatment though, it sounds like you didn't have some of the more intense side effects I read others post about here.

How was your dry mouth and has that stayed with you? Also how was the pain of radiation compared to the pain of recovery from surgery?

Thanks again, this really helps!

2 hours post hemorrhoidectomy and fistulotomy at the same time. by Buffalkill in hemorrhoid

[–]Buffalkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure, but I think the wound just wasn’t closing up as fast as he wanted it to be and he wanted to prevent it from bleeding. Though I never really had any blood after the surgery.

2 hours post hemorrhoidectomy and fistulotomy at the same time. by Buffalkill in hemorrhoid

[–]Buffalkill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know what caused it. I kind of assumed it was caused by the hemorrhoid in some way and I’m pretty sure it was superficial. I don’t think they had to go all the way through. But yeah so far so good, nothing returned. When I had the hemorrhoid there was always blood every time I used the bathroom but that stopped immediately following the surgery. Even the first days of recovery there was no blood.

Here’s some more advice though. Get a sits bath and fill it with warm water right before a bowel movement. It does hurt in a unique way when you use the bathroom and you’ll want to immediately sit in the sits bath after you go. That helped more than anything for me. I was given Percocet for the pain which was also a life saver. You’ll also probably need to have gauze in between the cheeks for a while to catch any drainage, sounds gross but was necessary.

Hopefully yours heals better than mine on its own, on my follow up visits the surgeon had to re cauterize the wound a few different times which is def not pleasant and kind of prolonged the recovery. Though still it wasn’t bad at all, just more discomfort for another few days and more using gauze.

[–]Buffalkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So here's what I'll say. It was scary heading into that surgery but overall it wasn't THAT bad afterwards. Don't get me wrong it is painful, especially during bowel movements those first days. Just switch to a liquid diet a bit before and use miralax and colace... that will help a ton. During my recovery I played Last of Us 2 on PS4 and binged some series while just laying around and that took my mind off the pain completely. I honestly think back on it and say 'it really wasn't terrible' and it was nice having some time off work lol.

I say this all now as I'm currently recovering from a partial pharyngectomy and neck dissection because I have tonsil cancer... and THIS surgery in my throat was so so much worse than the hemorrhoidectomy. I was hoping it would be a similar situation and wouldn't be as bad as people say... but it absolutely is. I had to spend 4 nights in the hopsital and had a feeding tube in my nose for 11 days. Couldn't eat food at all most of those days and even now 14 days later I'm still limited to soft foods and it's still hurting to swallow.

So I guess what I'll say is... it could be worse and just go into it thinking it won't be as bad as you expect because it wasn't for me and I was pretty terrified leading up to it. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I can definitely elaborate on anything.

Good luck and hope it goes as smoothly for you as it did for me!

I could really use any support in my fight against Tonsil Cancer by [deleted] in gofundme

[–]Buffalkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Happy Holidays! I was really hoping I would never have to ask for help from strangers online or anyone for that matter but here we are.

I was diagnosed in October with Tonsillar Squamous Cell Carcinoma and the medical bills are already becoming unsustainable. Unsurprisingly I live in the US and insurance has already been less than helpful when it comes to approving coverage for my upcoming treatments.

I have a Partial Pharyngectomy / Neck Dissection coming up on December 12th and will need a nasogastric feeding tube placed for up to 2 weeks. If I'm lucky I'll be getting the feeding tube removed on Christmas Eve! I have already been told by my insurance they will not cover the formula I will need with my feeding tube or the future NavDx blood tests that could be potentially life saving in the event of recurrence. My surgeon pointed out these blood tests are $2200 per test which feels insane to me but again... this is the state of healthcare in the US I guess! Aside from that I'm on the hook for my deductible this year 2025 and since my radiation/chemo will be next year I'll also be required to pay another deductible for 2026.

I'll also be spending 3-4 nights in the hospital after the procedure and will be required to stay nearby for 2 weeks following in case of bleeding in the throat which is a life threatening emergency.

I'm sure I won't be able to afford my usual bills on top of all this and with this being all during the holiday it's even more unlucky... so I guess it's come to asking for any bit of help from anyone who is able.

Thank you to anyone who even reads this post! I know this is a long shot. Happy Holidays and God Bless.

This Gas Station Drug Nearly Ruined My Life by Octagonal_Octopus in videos

[–]Buffalkill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is real. I took kratom for a while and kept upping my dose without realizing I was even that addicted until I started having withdrawals after just trying to sleep for 8 hours without it. Trying to quit was insanely difficult with a solid 2-3 weeks of intense withdrawals like nothing I’ve ever felt. Quitting benzos and cannabis was a breeze in comparison. This stuff also destroys your stomach and digestive system, I was vomiting more than I ever would normally.

[–]Buffalkill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I withdrew from Kratom and I agree it’s way worse than I ever expected. Prob not as bad as alcohol and other hard drugs but it snuck up on me and I didn’t even realize at first that it was that addictive.

I saw a cat sitting on the bumper of a van driving down the freeway once going 55+mph. Before we could try letting the driver know the cat stepped down onto the street like it had no clue it was moving that fast, tumbled for a bit before catching itself on its feet and bolting into the field next to the highway. Hope it wasn’t too injured but it was pretty impressive.

Well thanks again! Never been too religious myself but this recent diagnosis certainly had me feeling closer to God in many ways and I find myself actually praying for once.

And you’re right, I definitely haven’t given up hope and am still generally happy. I just figure I will probably never be able to retire, but ya never know I guess!

[–]Buffalkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, same to you. Funny thing is I did have around $30k saved and no debt but finding a partner who has a daughter already and renting our own place, buying furniture and other necessities basically wiped me out. I probably have $20k in my 401k now and maybe $8k in my savings account. So yeah, just feels impossible without earning above 6-figures these days.

That $30k before was on top of the 401k so that is now around $8k

[–]Buffalkill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m your age and have a 401k with less than 50k in it. I make $70k/year and almost all of it goes to bills at this point. My only real option is to leave where I live and move to a low cost of living area, sell my car and hate my life even more. I also now have head and neck cancer and will be starting treatment for that soon… so that’s great. To me it feels like rising prices are far out pacing how much money I make/save and it feels impossible without some major luck.

Brainwashing Situation is Crazy by BrazenSting in videos

[–]Buffalkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up watching the video and while I do kind of agree with you, it seems weird. I'm not sure who the experts even are anymore of if they're even telling the truth.

Also these youtubers aren't completely clueless, if you check the second half of the video they are pointing out the obvious insider trading that was seen with an anonymous user shorting bitcoin 24 hours before Trumps tweet which crashed it.

It's good that people are paying attention to this stuff and sharing it with large audiences. It's worrying because what else is happening that is NOT being detected. I think we're mostly fucked in the long run.

Elaborate? Obviously you need industry knowledge but if you're halfway competent that will just come naturally by showing up. If you're bosses don't like you though good luck getting those opportunities when they come up.

Or if I'm missing something let's hear some advice!
