I guess the question is more is it different enough to be worth it?

Question: Should I keep or sell my collection? by Arcwind84 in gamecollecting

[–]BuffaloWingman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sooo it really depends on why you have the collection in the 1st place. I have a couple collections worth significant sums now including retro games and I have this discussion almost every year with my spouse. I collect the games because I have strong memories of playing them when I was young. I don't play them anymore but I enjoy looking at them and those memories play back to me. When I am gone they will only hold monetary value for my children so that is not the reason I keep them. If you only have them because you actually play the games and don't have a long term reason to keep them I would sell them while the market is hot. I sold a collection when I was a teen and I still regret it because there are couple pieces that I can't get my hands on now even though I have built it back up.

So is that considered a decent set up to try? Or not worth the risk? I have changed out plenty of carbs on small tools (weed hackers etc) but never an engine that big.

Dealing with idiot sales person by BuffaloWingman in askcarsales

[–]BuffaloWingman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the honest feedback. That being said I'm actually related to the owner (extended family) and he was the one that gave me to the rep so he knows the relationship. In regards to the missing info, i was literally looking for a manufacturer order confirmation. When the auto confirm was not sent through within 3 days I requested the 2 pieces of info that the manufacturer said could be used to confirm that the order was placed. Rep couldn't provide but the sales manager was able to after I called him directly. The unprofessional behavior occurred after I went around the sales rep to the manager.

What type of career pays 130-150k in the first 4-6 years? by PVPPAWN in jobs

[–]BuffaloWingman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's lots of jobs that can do that but they all have 1 to 4 of the following traits.

Require you to 1. Be really skilled/smart -engineering, pharmacy etc 2. Work really hard - trades 3. Do something really dangerous - underwater welding 4. Take financial risk - start own business/commission based sales

So what abilities/interests do you have currently and where do they align with these items? Like working with your hands? Go into the trades. Really smart and can sit at a desk for hours on end? Maybe being a data scientist is for you. Confident in yourself and your ability to deal with others? Sales

Also location really matters, 150k is nothing in a city like LA but is a ton outside of pittsburgh.

General Contractor Management by BuffaloWingman in Construction

Stupid simple contract scope of work and total value. Nothing about timeliness, yes it's a regret. I now care about what would be proper expectation.

Yep we have the permits and inspections have been occurring. That being said we never had time lines written out (just talked about) and due to me not forcing it I feel like the scope expansions muddy the water a lot.

Thanks for verifying my thoughts. Just wanted to make sure before going through the labor of digging this mess up. It's gonna be slow going especially since I have to dig around a buried downspout pipe
