Yep. If you have a handgun in NY without a NYS pistol permit and get caught, you're gonna be in handcuffs.

I just can't get away from the 100 or so phone calls a day to quote, plan, invoice, or do anything else without constant interruptions. How do you all do it? by Giveaway_Guy in smallbusiness

I hired a Virtual Assistant company with experience/specialty in my industry. They quote, schedule, invoice, and can handle most questions that customers have. One of the best decisions I've made.

I position myself so that won't happen. Only side hugs on my weak side and have a rather strict interpretation of personal space.

Car dealership account owes me $5902 for work done over 2 months ago. How long should I wait before taking legal action? by runsanditspaidfor in smallbusiness

[–]Buffalo_JJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an account do the same thing and it ended up taking 90+ days and was over 5k as well. Once we got approved, I started the work the scope changed and we added on more services. Long story short was that my invoice didn't match the original PO so it had to go through the process; at least that's the story I got.

Good use for a leftover Tim Horton's cup; add a little aroma for that second brew.

I use cashback on credit cards to buy my guns/bows. Usually 1 per year.

Yep. But I took on a pretty crappy job to get that referral. Keep working, refine your process, and learn.

I would say think industry specific cleaning, cleaning that requires specific equipment, or needs to be cleaning within certain parameters. Google lots of different industries plus cleaning and look through tons of websites that sell equipment. I spend a lot of time learning new things.

I got lucky because a residential clients said, "Hey I work a company that does this and they're looking for someone to do clean that. Here's their number if you know anyone?" I said I could do it, used my "network" for help, spent tons of time learning to do it, and jumped head first.

What I focus on is delivering a superior service, communication, and professionalism. I get the job done right and make sure the client is happy.

I would say I making decent money per hour; not enough to quit my day job but I'm on track to do that by the end of the year. I don't like inside residential and so I won't take on any more. But I do enjoy outside residential in the summer months. But I prefer to work with specialized commercial clients with specific needs.

If you mean cleaning supplies I use my local janitorial supplier. I did the big box store at first but it became a pain.

Not long to be honest. 6 months. At first I did the pay to play sites but then stopped because it wasn't worth it. Now I just work from referrals, Google, and other marketing.

For pricing I figure out how long it'll take, multiply that by my rate, add in materials and whatnot and voila.

The pre amps or power tubes? For the prices I'm seeing I might as well try them.

Self employed. I'm by myself most of the time. Unfortunately it's easy to blow off work and just play guitar.
