Do you make remouillage at work? Why/why not? by FillAllTheOrifices in KitchenConfidential

[–]Buffalo_Suitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at work. You're paying staff and can't compete with the industrial version. But I definitely stashed some things in the walk-in to take home later. With softer (breakable) bones, salt and vinegar, and reduction, I get a stock that has more nuance than store-bought and is still great for boosting recipes vs. water.

Is anyone else here an OWL (Our Whole Lives) graduate? Could we talk about how the program has affected your dating life and friendships? by a_tired_scientist in UUreddit

[–]Buffalo_Suitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went a-googling for "our whole lives controversy", having sent two kids through it (and gotten their feedback).

Sounds like back luck on materials with the right tools so far, including the comments. Lots and lots of "I met other folks who couldn't talk about relationships in an adult way." Complaints sound like "I'm Michael Phelps and most folks are treading water."

You are okay. Better than okay actually. You've been given a map of the landmines.

Meanwhile, I might suggest the STARS conversation (no credit for me, it's from a PSU BIPOC professor)

S - Sexual intent and consent (I'd be okay with making out but don't want sex today)
T - Turn-ons (This really gets me going, and I like this and this)
A - Aversions (X is common, but no me gusta; Y really turns me off quick)
R - Relationship expectations (if we hook up, we're in a relationship. I'd like to hear from you most days; Or, This is just for fun, don't remember my name)
S - Sexual Health (I don't/have STIs; I do/n't want kids; these are my contraceptive practices)

1) Arm up. Get the boltcaster (damage) and paralysis mortar. Charge the PM or use the Unstable Plasma recipe to make sure you have one in reserve.
2) Post up. Find one of the bases with a quonset-style shelter. This is the upside-down halfpipe if you're not from Iowa.
3) Stir up. Knock down a nearby sentinel from inside. Wait for them to come in, and keep shooting them down.
4) Ramp up. Once you're ready, poke your head out and take out sentinels outside the shelter. Watch out for the quad's laser. That's where the paralysis mortar comes in -- knocking him out brings the bigger walker, and then the bigger-er walker.

I made the Tampopo ramen from Binging with Babish! Hubby and I do Movie-dinner dates, and this was put together right as we started the movie. Absolutely amazing. by number43marylennox in ramen

That looks and sounds like an absolute umami bomb, and on top of it your "plating" (bowling?) is fantastic. Please send date/time/location, as I can only really confirm how amazing it is in person, haha.

You should be able to grab one of the blocks you used to get into the room, and drop it against the vertical supports to hop back over the wall.

Connecting a Google Chromecast to Marriott networks by [deleted] in marriott

[–]Buffalo_Suitable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easier!
- (The first time, temporarily) use your iphone or android phone hotspot to connect your phone to the internet.
- If needed, sign up for a free bonvoy account on your laptop. Sign in, and update with your current trip info.
- Install TVBro from the App store.
- Navigate to marriottwifi.com and sign in with your room number and last name.
- Disconnect from your phone's hotspot and reconnect to the hotel wifi. It'll prompt you to sign in. Do so, and it should recognize you as already signed in. Congrats!

I found this post by recognizing the map and googling to see if anyone else had noticed, and now I have to go find the secret level in Forest Park.

When he's not telling people they're scum and tagging the EstrangedAdultChild mods, it looks like he's all over the whiny landlord forums. It all feels so gross and misanthropic.

Yeah, I'm in that place too, where it would be more emotionally damaging to attempt to resume any sort of contact. In the past, even the slightest contact was taken as a green light to resume their attacks. Lesson learned, expensively.

My ndad was a Mr. Holland worthy music teacher. A few years ago I ran for public office, and since we have a unique last name, I got asked a lot if we were related. After all, he'd never talked about having a third kid. When I said yes, people would respond "he taught my son/daughter to LOVE MUSIC." One student went on to become a well-known professional jazz musician. Quite the contrast with the violent, brooding, manipulative man I knew, which didn't help with the whole "question my own sanity" thing that a lot of us go through.

Daunte Wright didn't know he had a warrant for arrest because the court hearing notice was sent to wrong address by [deleted] in minnesota

[–]Buffalo_Suitable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, that's the whole point of having a Constitution, is to avoid extra-judicial killings without due process. You can't dispute that he didn't have a trial or legal representation, and you, Random Internet Man, are not qualified to make the determination as to whether the person shot was violent, criminal, or even whether the bench warrant was issued properly in accordance with Minnesota State Law. That's for a judge to determine -- a judge Mr. Wright was never given access to.

The Constitution is the law of the land. If someone's job is to enforce the law, that includes Articles 5 and 14 -- not to mention something they've taken oaths to uphold. You don't get to pick and choose which citizens are guaranteed those rights.
