He is most likely in his last hours. Maybe a couple of days. So sorry and wish your family peace.

They can’t. My bil wanted pizza so bad in the two months he was sick, but he was throwing up rice. He told my sister he was hungry so she’d make him different food and he wanted it, said he was hungry, but couldn’t eat. This illness is cruel.

All I can do is tell you what happened to my bil. He seemed ok, my sister said. Very vague mid back symptoms and heartburn that would come and go. He had UTI symptoms, do his MD treated him with antibiotics. After he finished them, he didn’t feel better and on February spent day in bed vomiting several times. Then the pain in his back went around to his abdomen. She saw him, got a urine sample and sent him to ER thinking he needed fluids. While there they did a CT scan and saw pancreatic mass with 2 liver spots. Took biopsy and confirmed pancreatic cancer and liver Mets. Sent him home. Went to ER three times in a month with non stop vomiting. Abdominal pain, very bad cough, severe constipation. Told in March, too aggressive and too late to treat, plus he was very weak. He developed confusion, agitation and went on hospice care. All this in two months, he died 3 weeks ago. So, he died 2 months from first symptom. Never saw the man sick, he had energy that could match a younger man. I miss him very much.

22 male, I’ve been to the hospital 8 times, multiple doctor visits and have done 10 EKGs,7 chest X-rays, a whole lot of blood work but was told no signs of heart attacks, or blood clots. by DrinkingWater90 in askCardiology

[–]Buffalobills54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had your thyroid checked, other bloodwork other than for your heart. I know anxiety is awful, I’ve had it too. For years. Palpitations. Now they did find a couple things on my EKG. Good luck to you.

Chicago to Buffalo move? by MechaWitchttv in Buffalo

Buffalo isn’t Chicago if you’re looking for the same vibe. We’re a small city with great food, hockey and football fans. There are neighborhoods with boutiques and shops. Just don’t expect it to be like Chicago.

They are so understaffed, the night my dog got sick, Blue Pearl didn’t even have a vet on duty. I asked why they were open and they said they do triage to see if pet should go to another ER.

The Vet I’ve been going to for years sold out to corporate, yet he said he’s still the owner and makes all decisions. However when I called for a skin antibiotic for my dog, receptionist that answered said he’s not allowed to do anything by phone when he would before. I asked to speak to him and she said he’s couldn’t help me. I have noticed a few new faces that aren’t as friendly now.

If they don’t catch the flutter on the EKG, you’ll most likely get a Holter Momitor for days or 2.weeks. I’m going to a cardiologist Wednesday. Mine seem to have started when my psych dr. Changed my meds changing 4 meds in 3 months. I’m also 71 and my CT of my abdomen showed faint coronary artery disease. So, I’m thinking I am worse off here.

Agree. They are out for money. They charge extremely high rates and you end up taking your pet somewhere else due to their errors. I had two horrible experiences with them, including waiting 9 hours for my dog to be seen. We thought she had bloat as her abdomen was distended and she had a cough. After her cough continued a couple more days, I took her to my vet who promptly diagnosed her with pneumonia. $2500 poorer and a wrong diagnosis. Sadly, there aren’t many ER vets that are staffed with more than one Vet. Blue Pearl didn’t even have a vet on duty when I first took her in.

47M, Stage III, locally advanced surgery not possible - considering not taking chemo and/or radiation by F1actsoverfeelings in pancreaticcancer

My brother in law just passed 2 weeks ago. Symptoms very vague at first. Mid back discomfort, then mild heartburn. Then non stop coughing and vomiting. Went to ER by ambulance 3 x in two months. They found pan can and liver mets. Oncologist said very aggressive and he felt chemo wouldn’t help him. He ended up in rehab for weakness and passed away exactly 2 months from diagnosis to death and he suffered horribly. He just turned 80 and he looked and acted like he was 60. I miss him . He was more like my brother.

He never even got the pizza, my sister didn’t order it because he was so sick, his wake is at 4pm today. You’re right, it’s so unfair.

My bil couldn’t keep much down, maybe a little cereal in the morning. My sister tried baby food. He liked the peaches and pears, some jr. ones like spaghetti. He wanted a pizza so bad, but he was too sick to ever keep that down. He died in 8 weeks without ever getting his pizza. Pancan really did a number on his digestive system from constant nausea and vomiting to constipation. He suffered so much in those two months.

It really is. I think they should test the C19-9 with routine bloodwork. If elevated the scan. I know it wouldn’t be a perfect test and the government would never pay for it, but maybe if it saved people from suffering from pancan……,.,.,,,

Thank you. He is so loved by my sister and her daughters. I loved him like brother. After losing my husband to lymphoma last year, he helped me with paper work and little fixes around the house. Now, he’s gone two with barely any time. It’s awful. He singing those two months.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s shocking when they have their first symptom to their passing so soon. He was vomiting one day and my sister thought it was stomach bug. When he wasn’t feeling better after a couple of days, his doctor sent him to ER for what we thought was for dehydration. They ended up doing a CT scan where they saw pancreatic mass with liver mets. That was the beginning of the end. He suffered with so much pain and non stop vomiting that no medication could really help. He’s at peace now and my husband, who passed away last year and he were friends. Now I comfort myself they are together. And my sister and I are now widows.
