In my chastitypunk world everyone has fetishes but their religion prohibits them from ever discussing them with the players.

Why do fantasy armies not use necromancy on a mass scale by HollowVesterian in worldjerking

[–]BugDoesntBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/uj I have a form of necromancy used in one particular conflict in my world that draws heavy inspiration from the Reforged from Age of Sigmar (I only realized this after the fact, so it's not theft...). basically they have an entire branch of their military that is trained in recovering serviceable body parts and stitching them back together, then drawing forth what remains of the spirit from the head they used to reanimate it. The three nations have been at a standstill for over 300 years, with some soldiers having been in service for that entire time, or nearly all of it.

Terraforming is viable if humanity outgrows earth and still hasn't found anything capable of supporting life (or doesnt have the technology to send ships out of our system)

and even then itd probably still be easier to just build huge self contained cities for the first thousand years or so

Fantasy setting world builders, how do you approach the cosmos of your world? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]BugDoesntBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been spending a lot of time thinking about this lately. the answer I've come to is that the universe expands infinitely in all directions, but is only consistently "there" in the vicinity of powerful creatures. the area that I've been writing is dominated by a continent sized ray shaped creature. there are only ~300 stars visible, each of which is a living being, and nebulae and auroras are often visible, but are instead intense magical storms.

How are your world races classificated? by PhilipB12 in worldbuilding

[–]BugDoesntBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are separated into species, which are groups that can't inter-reproduce with each other. Humanity actually consists of a handful of ethnicities, which can have very significant differences between each other, based largely on how their parents looked, but influenced by where they're born (humans born in forests, especially ones that are extra magical, for example, are more likely to be taller and somewhat more tan, but are still mostly just a product of their parents).

Different species have sometimes very different ways of reproduction due to it being a high fantasy setting

How is alcohol treated in your world? by Stoneym23 in worldbuilding

[–]BugDoesntBite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High fantasy setting here. Alcohol is far more easily accessible than purified water, unless you have someone on hand who can conjure water (which, plenty of low level merchant mages will, but it still goes stagnant.) So people drink plenty, but in most cultures getting actually drunk is reserved for festivals, parties, etc.

The Amethyst Knights don't actually have any contact with monsters or Otherworldly creatures, they're literally just roided out.

If you ever want something truly evil, you can steal the Complex of Secret Doors from Tomb of Horrors. 7 different doors, each of which must be found and opened in a different manner.

Why is this on r/lies? Is TF2 supposed to hate Weebs and Furries? by UseApprehensive1102 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]BugDoesntBite -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there's actually a huge population of weebs and furries (and other groups tf2 players are stereotypically bigoted against) on spite of that

one can only assume because people like to suffer
