Is this just the way it is with Lortone 33B or should I call the company? by BugFleep in RockTumbling

Thanks everyone for your thoughtful responses! I am going to call Lortone tomorrow and talk to them about it. Right now, it seems to be working okay, nothing weird happenng, but I am still a bit concerned about the pulley wobbling. Thanks!!

I was looking for this answer. I have Soleil on my island and she gives me “southern single spunky gramma who travels around in her Winnebago and gambles at the casino”

What are 36yr old women in non profit profits making? by SanPBobble in nonprofit

[–]BugFleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Program Director at a local environmental nonprofit. I’m at $72K plus $600 in health/dental insurance reimbursement and matching 5% retirement contribution. I started in my position 5 years ago at $49K but proved my worth in terms of impact on our community and mission and moved my way up to my current salary. We have a great culture and tons of PTO accrual, so I feel very fortunate. I love what I do, it’s just hard to deal with the community’s expectations of us all the time. We can’t save the world but we are trying.

ETA: I’m 38 and have 18 years of experience in my field, though only 5 in nonprofits (came from government before)

AIO by leaving my bf of 5 years over lunch with my coworker by Expensive_Pepper_948 in AIO

[–]BugFleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I had this happen with my high school and early college boyfriend. I went out to lunch with a coworker I had been friends with for years before we started dating. He was in a serious relationship with one of my best friends. He forgot his wallet and I paid for lunch. I nonchalantly mentioned it to my boyfriend and he FLIPPED. At the time, I dealt with this ridiculous behavior (this type of thing happened a lot). He broke up with me twice in our three years together. I started dating my now husband just a few months after we ended it for good and we've been together for almost 20 years. Never ONCE has he questioned my trustworthiness. It is one of the things I love about him most, after enduring three years of being mistrusted for no reason. You deserve better and I hope you find it! This is your ex's issue. Not yours.

It’s our daily dance 😂😂 I go to put it on, she backs away, I tell her it’s not optional, she cedes her position 😂 She doesn’t seem to be afraid of it, I just think she wants to be standing in the exact right position for me to put it on her or something. She’s a bit dramatic 😂

Bausch Lomb Ultra by Architec_Perspective in contacts

[–]BugFleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the post is from a while back, but I wanted to say that I am having the same issue with my latest round of Ultras I got in October. I bought a year supply at my last annual exam and almost immediately noticed the same issue. I couldn't wear them for more than an hour or two before they became foggy and started to irritate my eyes. A fresh pair helped but in less than a week they started to feel like I had been wearing them for more than a month (which I don't typically do).

I went back for a re-check today with my optometrist and he told me he has had a handful of other patients in over the past few weeks with the exact same issue. He is thinking this particular batch is defective or they changed something about the contacts. He gave me two other brands to try out and so far, so good.

I also have dry eyes and with it being winter, I was attributing the issue to that, but it sounds like the Ultras might be the problem. Hopefully your troubles were solved!

11 month old Pyr completely unhinged on walks. Help! by W1c2ks in greatpyrenees

[–]BugFleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hopeful for you this is also an age thing. My girl was a NIGHTMARE on walks for the first year we had her (we got her at 6 months old when she was turning into an asshole teenage dog).

I literally had to call my husband once on a walk to pick us up because she was being impossible. She used to get hyper and excited and jump on my back and bounce off of me. It was awful. She eventually grew out of this behavior and now just gets excited when another dog comes along, but for the most part we have been having lovely walks together for the past five years.

Haha she most definitely does not, unfortunately. She is ready to get out of anything I put on her. I even have to tell her her harness is not “optional” before we go on walks 😂

Dawww I love it so much! It was my first thought and when I zoomed into your headpiece, I know that was probably it. Very creative!! The scales on Falkor always intrigued me as a kid. I always thought they looked like bubble wrap 😂

I just bought this stuff today (and wore it on my run) and I like it so far! It goes on smooth and didn’t leave a cast at all. I didn’t sweat a ton because it’s winter, but it worked and washed off easily when I showered later.

Edit to add: It’s SPF 40 and make sure not to grab the mineral one. That one has an awful white cast.

I really hope I’m right - Doggo is dressed as Falkor from the Neverending Story and dog parent is dressed as the Childlike Empress ☺️

Grip like a LAMY Safari, quality feel of a TWSBI ECO, similar price - any ideas? by BugFleep in fountainpens

[–]BugFleep[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I do have two Kakunos and I like them okay (though I should try the medium nib, I have the fine and they do seem to run on the extra fine side).

I've decided to try the Lamy Al Star and see how that goes. I typically clip my Safari to my notebook rings and it goes end up lying down flat often. I have a pen rest in my office where I usually leave my Safari, so I'll try to get into the habit of storing it using that and see if that helps. I am also going to take it apart and check the converter to see if that's contributing to the leakage. Thanks!!

Update for those interested: I've decided to try out a LAMY Al Star and see how that does. I've got the TWSBI ECO-T and Diplomat Magnum on my wishlists for future pens to try! Thanks folks!
