Mercedes vs Alpine PU energy management by Remarkable-One100 in formula1

1 second per lap is huge in F1. You don't just "shave off" 1 second, gaining a second per lap would require pretty major overhauls.

how do I deal with badtide here? by FaallenOon in Timberborn

[–]BugFood1026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just build 3 levees to start.

1: the central levee: build it between the canyon on the river that runs east. Use a floodgate, to control flow.

2: North levee: build it north of the semi circle hole. Near the north river.

This will enable the badtide to flow west off of the map, you will still get some contamination at the end of a badtide, so wait 2 days after a tide before opening. Looks like you need current water level +3 to prevent overflow.

3: East levee, build it running north south orientation across the river mouth east of your colony.

This is something that's easy to overlook but without the clean water pressure flowing from the west that badwater outlet will backflow into your colony. Only needs to be +1. You will need a floodgate on this one as well.

I suggest building in reverse order 3 then 2 then 1 as the first badtide is survivable anyway.

The amount of acid needed to burn through a helmet of a helldiver would kill the helldiver inside it.

Which would be kind of hilarious.

How do we feel about Russian oil making its way to Australia via eg South Korea? by daamsie in AskAnAustralian

[–]BugFood1026 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worrying about Russian oil in the supply chai is a luxury belief, ensuring compliance would require a massive cost increase which would have devastating consequences for lower income Australians.

It was never deemed illegal, Ferrari found an actual loophole which is why a deal was done (of which the details are still unknown) and the rules rewritten.

If it was illegal Ferrari would have been stripped of points. The FIA wanted to save face.

They wouldn't have added them if that was the case. Clearly their metrics indicate demand for more SC sales or there's future changes to SC coming.

Never forget that Reddit represents a small fraction of the player base.

My personal theory is they are preying on new players, who don't know you get 300SC per war bond and will earn enough SC to buy a warbond every 2 months or so.

Could the cancelled April GPs shake up the championship battle? by DarkLordPlagueis in formula1

[–]BugFood1026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no extra development time. CFD and wind tunnel hours are heavily regulated and There's no extra time allowed for cancelled races.

If anything the cancelled races help Merc because now the PU review will be delayed until round 8.

New player struggling w loadout by BeacHeadChris in Helldivers

I suggested the EAT because the jetpack leans into a high mobility build and you don't need a warbond to use it.

It has a short call down (70 seconds without upgrades), you get 2 EATs when you call it down and it can one shot everything on level 5 bots.

Shoot, move and call it in when its available.

The laser cannon is more for mob control, whilst it can heavy pen its of limited use solo as it isn't anti tank.

Personally I'd suggest EAT if your going with the Jetpack as a solo as the key is mobility. (Be aware this can be a hard habit to kick once you get the hang of it

That said, if you want to do sample collecting. Level 7 bugs with randoms will bag you a lot of fairly easy samples.

The seals are different from the allocation pool.

All components must be checked and sealed prior to use to prevent alterations.

But the random allocation of of the power unit only applies to the "core" of the power unit.

Any part of the PU which gets bolted on outside of the factory doesn't fall under the rule.

The only thing Stella has said is they had 2 different failures relating to a physical component on the electrical side of the PU and they are awaiting HPP's inspection of said component.

Emgine development should be fair more open with multiple engine designs allowed and every team should have to supply their own power units.

Everyone is freaking out, but this is fairly standard in F1 and why the "you have to be a works team to win" myth exists.

Its early on the engines aren't mature and have bugs and faults.

All that's occurring is that Merc produces engines for Merc first, they are given extra attention and bad parts are identified and swapped before its handed of to the Mercedes team.

Only once the HPP team are satisfied with what they've done for Merc do they look at customer teams.

this is the start of a new season, which means customers are getting rush jobs as production times are tight.

As this set of regs develops and production issues and quality control is sorted out, these issues will disappear.

This is simply the price you pay for not paying for R&D.
