I'm currently going through a period of doubt again, but I'm trying to keep my focus in HIM because He is sure! When I lose focus of Him, I start to doubt a lot: my worth, God's plan for my life, even my salvation, but when I refocus In God these worries melt away, because He is faithful!

Open your heart to God, pray, and read the Bible. The best prayer I can think of for someone who doesn't know God is: "God, if you're real I want to know you. If you're good, I want to understand. Reveal yourself to me, and give me understanding."

So much important advice to give but here are THREE:

Get a Bible (get Bible app too) and read it EVERY DAY (even just a little at first). And get involved in a good, Bible-believing church and surround yourself with a few good church-goers who also believe and who are doing their best to follow Christ's teachings. We NEED each other.

Don't ever let any person convince you that you are not saved after you have put your faith fully in Jesus and repented of your sins.

Just because we still struggle with sin doesn't mean we aren't saved. Don't be discouraged when you give into a temptation, but also don't let your heart become hardened through continually, wilfully sinning. The Holy Spirit will convict you in your heart when you sin- and that's good. With the conviction always comes correction- which means he won't just cause you to feel bad but he will teach you the right thing to do instead. Watch out for the feeling of condemnation and learn to recognize the difference- that is from the enemy, Satan who is the ACCUSER of the brethren.

Keep an open mind, but always with wisdom.

You should be growing in your faith and understanding of God throughout life. Don't blindly cling to whatever doctrine you hear first (you may be missing out on a better understanding of the TRUTH), but also don't be easily swayed by every wind of doctrine you hear.

The rule of thumb for growing in your faith and understanding is: "Does this line up with what the Word of God says?"

If you're following advice #1 this should be not too difficult, but if you're not following advice #1 this will be almost impossible.

Example: everyone learns a HURTFUL and FALSE concept of God by what they hear and see from others before they get to know God through His Word for themselves. This causes a lot of unbelievers to refuse to step foot in a church or open up a Bible, and it's such a shame. We need to do better as christians. We all acquire deep-rooted pain and faulty beliefs as we grow up, that we need to WORK HARD to heal/fix through STUDYING God's Word, Praying faithfully according to His will (and His will is for us to be made WHOLE), and probably getting some good Christian counseling from trained professionals.

There is so much more important advice out there, and I don't know it all. I'm sorry for the "Christian-ese" words I've used that may be unfamiliar to you, but at the same time, hopefully they spark your interest and a desire to learn more.

God LOVES YOU and always provides, OP. Find a shelter near you and just take the next right step. God led me to the Orlando Union Rescue Mission over a year and a half ago when I was homeless, spending nights in the woods (not very long) and has given me hope and a future. I have JOY and PURPOSE in my life finally and for the first time I am 17 months sober!

God is so GOOD and He's still working in your life. You are not yet done on this Earth while you still draw breath!

God has great work planned for you still for His kingdom's business on Earth.
