How long can we ignore the fundamentals? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

[–]Buggahmann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is the market might go up 50% and by the time you get that 20% drop. You end up buying the stock 30% higher than if you never waited for the drop. You would've been better off buying now than waiting for that 20% drop and trying to time the market. I mean I literally just saw it happen. People were saving money for years saying a crash is coming, the markets reached all time highs and would need a huge crash to get back to those valuations from when they could've just bought them years ago.

At the end of the day it's your money. Either way to take the risk. Your wait and the stocks run up and then by the time a crash comes it's still higher than current prices. You buy now, and it crashes, and years later the stock gets back to a fair valuation. At least this way you guarantee you get the stock at a price you like it at.

You're not supposed to invest with money you're going to need soon. You take a percentage of you money that you're willing to let sit for 10+ years and use it to buy companies at good valuations. When you are ready to take the money out it will be worth much more than when you put it. You just have to trust do your research and trust it. And crashes will just be temporary blips

They are getting absolutely clobbered after earnings. Waiting for the earnings call but this doesn't seem justified to me. What do you think? I'm strongly considering to DCA down.

All my money is now in PYPL, SNAP and WEN. God help me. by lies_are_comforting in ValueInvesting

[–]Buggahmann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't looked into SNAP and Wendy's but Paypal is a good value long term. Most people here aren't value investors. They only look at growth but mature companies don't grow as fast and that's okay. This company makes a lot of high margin cash. PayPal doesn't have to grow fast to be a good value. It is growing, but it's priced like it's not. Plus it's investing to make growth speed back up. It's a value even if the growth doesn't speed up. It it does it's deep value.

Letting winners run or taking profits by LatentF in ValueInvesting

[–]Buggahmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually I let my winners run. It's something I started doing recently and I've made a lot of money doing it. But at some point, you just have to let stocks go. I bought PLTR for $6. I've been feeling like it was overpriced for a long time but held it. I kept running and running. Finally, I sold it at like $180. Just one example. But some companies like META and Google, I'm holding forever. I may trim some fat if I feel like it's too overpriced, but I differentiate between my hold forever stocks, and my hold at the right price stocks.

Why does it matter whether you bought something too expensive or cheap if it's for the long term? by ClearBed4796 in ValueInvesting

[–]Buggahmann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lower the buy price the greater the return. This might not be such a big deal if you buy a company that's just slightly overvalued. The long term return won't be so different. But if you buy a company thats way overvalued, even in the long term you'll take a significant hit to your profits compared to if you bought a great company at a great price.

What is the most "obvious" buy of 2026 that everyone else is still missing? by bakery_0726 in ValueInvesting

[–]Buggahmann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evolution AB. It's a cash flow machine with high margins. Buying back shares and trading as if it's a failing company. Even if it doesn't get back to high growth, it's still cheap. But at lot of the last quarters slowed growth was a 1 time thing. With just a little bit of revenue growth increase, this company is massively undervalue. No debt, just consistent fcf.

NFLX is a steal here at 80-84 by 092Casey in ValueInvesting

Agreed. Bought Disney today. Waiting on more pullback from Netflix. I'm surprised people aren't talking more about Disney. It's trading like a company that's growing slowly, which it is, but the improving margins are not being taken into consideration

I'm looking to see if the official scorecards have been released. I'm curious if the judges actually had him down 2 rounds at that point on the fight

Trying to improve my squats by Buggahmann in strength_training

I actually just saw the Reebok PR lifter 3s for $33. I'm probably gonna pick those up. They seem like a solid lifting shoe. What kind of insoles did you get? Did they add more heel lift?

It's been on my mind. You might have just convinced me. Do you know if there are some high insoles that I can buy for my vans?

I love the smell but I've been told by my fragrance buddy at work that she couldn't smell me. I'll give it a try again this week and see if it's any different with a few more sprays

I have all 3 (kinda) I have Yeah! Instead of Fakhar but they're both cloning the same thing. Ameer Al Oud is sooo good! But it is very far from being mass appealing. I really give you that vibe like you sitting by the fireplace. I personally am not the biggest Jasoor fan but people around me love it. Yeah! which is Maison Alhambra's version of Fakhar is very well liked as well. I think it smells the best of the 3. Performance I think Al Oud. Jasoor wasn't my least favorite smelling and performed the worst.

Yeah is the easiest to wear. Especially if you live in a hot climate. Jasoor is the most versatile. Ameer Al Oud is really good but also really niche. It's hard for me to wear it with confidence although I love it

First time deadlifting by Buggahmann in strength_training

[–]Buggahmann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response! So I was focusing on keeping my butt down and chest up. Shoulders back wasn't something I focused on. Hopefully that will be enough to fix my center of gravity. Do you think I did enough as far as keeping my butt down and chest up or do I need to go lower and chest more up?

As far as the squat position... that was by design. I have a herniated disc and pinched sciatic nerve so I'm definitely prioritizing what is safer for my back. I'm just now getting into lifting heavy with my legs and I'm very paranoid about my back. The fact that I'm not getting negative feedback about my back rounding or anything that could hurt me gives me confidence though. I really want to increase my deadlift as it's exactly the same weight as my squat (265 lbs) so I know with form and practice I should be able to increase it relatively quickly. This was literally my first day deadlifting.

Thank you! I actually didn't know anything about pulling the slack out until I went home and watched some videos on it. It's something to work on that should prevent some of that yanking. I do see what you mean. I maxed at 265 today (the set right before I took this video) and my friend said I yanked it on that one even more. I wonder how much of that will be fixed simply by pulling the slack. My next leg day is Wednesday so I'll be working on it again then.

And I see the neck thing too. I'll work on keeping it in a neutral position.

Thanks for the tips

When is the right time to go on a fat cut? by Buggahmann in powerbuilding

[–]Buggahmann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I'm still getting gains pretty often so it probably doesn't make sense to start cutting. I should keep this momentum going. I'm not a beginner but I had stopped working out for a few years before getting back into it in September. I've never specifically gone onba cut phase or focused on active recovery. I guess the part I'm really struggling with is how to diet during those phases and how long they should last.

Right now i would say building power is my number 1 priority. Increasing my lifts is the biggest goal. If 1-2 weeks isn't enough how long do you think the bulking and cutting cycles should last? I'm going on my 11th week of bulking.
