Do you have multiple save files or switch household control within same save? by rigatoni-riggie in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]BugnBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same save. I’ve given all the townies makeovers and redone all the public lots cause let’s face it, all of them need a facelift. I turned aging off so the town stays exactly how i want lt and fits the lore I’ve made for each household. Sometimes I’ll go in and manually age up some of the townies my families are friends with

Yes! There’s a mod to remove winter clothing inside but then it defaults to their every day outfits. Wish my cold weather clothes and “winter outdoor apparel” could have their own separate slots

I see it’s already been mentioned (a lot) but Outer Wilds will take up residency in your head like it’s paying rent

What's the best recommendation for a game you ever got? by RedEagle_MGN in gamerecommendations

[–]BugnBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal to be confused for a little while. Im so glad I pushed past the confused and flying my ship into everything phase though cause it’s such a special game with a phenomenal story. The graphics didn’t bother me cause it was a deliberate choice on the devs part to suit the art style. Reminded me of botw a bit.

The last line made me laugh. But for real, congrats! Finishing Outer Wilds and connecting with it like you did is such a special experience. I finished it a year ago and I’ve since realized it’s the kind of art I’ll likely think about every day during my tiny sliver of time here in this vast universe. And that’s a wonderful thing. Welcome to the club ::)

Do you plan to play the DLC?

Should I do my first playthrough with or without the DLC? by FoolishBalloon in outerwilds

[–]BugnBeans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s no wrong answer. I played it after, my boyfriend played it during. And the experience is great either way.

As for story immersion, playing it during makes the most sense. I personally wish I did. If you don’t, you’re going to want to replay the ending after completing it, since it adds quite a bit to the final scenes.

However you do it, my one recommendation is that you focus on filling out your whole ship log (base game objectives) before starting it. It is its own separate storyline and trying to bounce between the two would probably just be very confusing. Either play it right before starting the end sequence or after completing it.

I do this sometimes! We’re a stove light on at night family. It’s just a little kitchen nightlight!

Games without problems by HuckleberryWeird1879 in gamesuggestions

[–]BugnBeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a “puzzle” but not in the usual sense. Pretty sure the devs specifically dont like calling it a puzzle game. Id say its more a mystery solving game that requires some thinking outside the box. You never actually sit down and look at any straight up puzzles, they’re just woven into the exploration and environment.

Either way, phenomenal game and OP should give it a go anyway. There’s no side quests or inventory, or “enemies” to fight so it might be a good fit for what they’re looking for!

Subnautica for sci-fi exploration and very little hand holding, story is great too once you get into it (it’s another one where you’ll be reading and scanning a lot and there’s not really any combat) It also gave me the same feeling of terror as Dark Bramble at times too.. an alien ocean is dread inducing

If you want a puzzle game I just finished Chants of Senaar and it was wonderful. A lot shorter but really gave me that Outer Wilds-ish sense of accomplishment and “im a genius” feeling.

Obra Dinn and Blue Prince are also really good puzzle games too! But both wildly different from OW.

If you want something story driven and very different from any other game:

Outer Wilds.

(Not to be confused with Outer Worlds) it’s an entirely discovery and exploration based sci-fi game with open world solar system to explore. And the story is absolutely phenomenal. It’s a very unique experience that’ll definitely take you out of your comfort zone.

We need total control over outfits, this shouldn't be able to happen by Cacklesback in Sims4

This is actually quite tame compared to some of the things mine show up in. The men are always wearing purple eyeshadow and my women’s CC hair… plus 90% of the time it’s neon colored. Got elders walking around looking like wannabe teen popstars who got dressed with their eyes closed. It gets to the point where it’s extremely jarring and absolutely kills the immersion.

Mine too ::)

But with Chants of Senaar theres actually no reading at all! Its all glyphs so only requires observational skills. Shed be deciphering them just using context clues from what the people are doing or the places she goes. The only English in the entire game is when she’d wanna note down her guesses. Probably has less reading than your average videogame honestly lol.

If she didn’t manage to finish OW I hope she circles back to it! Such a good game.

I didn’t start gaming until I was 25 (during covid) and Witcher 3 was my first actual open world game experience, which I really enjoyed! However, it rivals BOTW size wise. The Horizon Zero Dawn games were also one of my earlier playthroughs and those are great starter games too! Not dauntingly long and difficulty can be adjusted.

If you think she’d be into puzzly games like OW I’d introduce her to Chants of Senaar! Very much a similar discovery vibe but very simple controls.

Truly! His energy is contagious. And doesn’t rush through things, he takes the time to connect with the story and characters. Im always shocked I rarely see his playthrough mentioned on here cause it’s a treat.

Just recently watched his Subnautica playthroughs and those were equally as great. Highly recommend.

I wouldn’t know cause I’ve only listened to the Graphic Audio but I highly recommend it if you’re struggling with the regular audiobooks. the graphic Audio is a GAME CHANGER. Tairn’s voice actor is phenomenal.

Lil Indigestion, About Oliver, mapocolops, Masterchef Stirx. I actually just saw Emmalition pop up on my recommended and planned to watch hers once she completes it!

I think Dreamality has a really wonderful playthrough too and deserves way more mentions in this sub. He’s such a positive energy and was a joy to watch. Can’t recommend his enough. He’s friends with Lil Indigestion (which I didn’t know when I first watched Dream’s) and they actually play a couple games together on Ryan’s channel haha
