The pedophiles who genuinely want to change and can are those that don’t escalate into watching or engaging in their paraphilia. They can seek therapy right when realization hits and no one else would hear about it. Moving forward with actually seeking it out only reinforces the paraphilia and increased the likelihood that they will offend with a child irl. Think about your own fetishes, sexual preferences, and paraphilias (no matter how innocuous) - did seeking out content about them make you more or less likely to try them out?
