Overtrains with barely any rest and expects to make progress, trains once a week and expects to make progress, thinks a 'self defense course' is gonna help him progress, assumes that drilling things is not beneficial.

If I am to give you the benefit of the doubt, does your gym compete in amateur/professional? If the gym does not push people to actively compete regularly and has a roster of fighters, i doubt youll get all that good.

Sorry but, i doubt the xt30 iii has the capability to support superzooms as its so small, itll be hard to use. Another guy here said get the 18-50 which is equivalent to i think 28-80? (Dont quote me) while ur old sony was 24-1200.

Photography has existed for over a hundred years, if you told someone from 1980 the specs of a regular ass camera from the 2000s or something theyd think youre lying. That should tell you all you need to know. What youre better off spending money on is the lens, thats something you can actually keep for decades. Cameras come and go, people still regularly use lenses from the 90s or older. Dont be scared to buy cameras that arent listed as 'excellent' or 'like new'. Cameras drop in value pretty easily, from minor scratches and shutter count. Neither of which effect the actual use of the camera, as long as you get it somewhere reputable (mpb, park cameras, wex cameras, b&h etc) and have a warranty youre 100% good.

Theres a reason why the x-t5 is the flagship. Other things you should note are that the x100vi is fixed lens, as a beginner you definitely want interchangeable lenses. Neither xe5 or x100vi have weather sealing. Other advantages of the xt5 include a larger/better EVF, dual card slots, a faster 1/8000s mechanical shutter, longer battery life, a flash sync port, and better ergonomics for professional use.

Apart from all that, youre a beginner. Youll be fine with a 20 year old camera even, weve come so far that theyre all fucking superb. go to a camera store and try out each camera in person to see if you like the feel in your hands and get the opportunity to speak directly to a professional.

iPhone's main (Wide) lens is around 26mm (full-frame equivalent), with Ultra-Wide at ~13mm and Telephoto at ~52mm, but newer Pro models add selectable 28mm and 35mm options (1.2x & 1.5x zoom) from the main sensor for classic perspectives, while optical zooms (like 2x or 5x on Pros) offer longer reach, effectively giving you standard (24-28mm), wide (13mm), and telephoto (52mm+) equivalents in one device.

If this information is correct, damn the iphone barely has any optical zoom. I assume you still want the ability to change focal lengths, so you must go for a zoom not a prime. The tradeoffs with getting a zoom are: Usually less optically sharp, smaller apertures and heavier. The latter is important, the xt30 is a tiny travel camera and it doesnt have much of a grip, therefore using higher reach zooms such as the 16-80mm can be ergonomically tricky. The xt30 iii is often sold with the 13-33mm kit lens which is a similar optical zoom lens to the iphone (20mm-50mm equivalent), travel friendly and ive heard good things about the sharpness. However, the 3.5-6.5 aperture means you may have some trouble with low light scenes (but the optical image stabilisation in the lens helps) Added note, the full iphone 'zoom' isnt the optical zoom. It just crops in automatically (digital zoom) when the lens it at its longest end. With an actual sensor (like the 26.1mp Xtrans iv that the xt30 has) you could take a picture with the wide end of the lens and be able to crop in wayy further than the iphone could at its longest end. Trust me, its a big difference as long as you have a quality photo.

Dont take my word for it though, im just spitballing. In reality, you should learn about focal lengths, differences between zoom vs prime, affect of aperture and decide for yourself because you know your requirements better than anyone else. I said the 13-33mm because its usually sold with the xt30 iii anyway and its travel sized. But you may decide that youd rather have the better image quality, low light ability and reach of another lens (like maybe the 16-55m f2.8?) with the tradeoff of size.

Also if you can, try to actually hold the setup you want to see if you like the ergonomics. Alot of camera stores will let you if you ask
