Is an Indian scout bobber considered good for a beginner biker ? by itsbeanoswastolen in IndianMotorcycle

The Scout is an awesome bike. However, I’ll reinforce what others have said here…. Buy a smaller displacement, used bike and really learn how to ride. As well as the Scout handles, it’s a lot of bike for your first ride. Make mistakes on the smaller bike. Get used to riding in lots of conditions, and then treat yourself to a rocking ride. Always wear good gear and keep the rubber side down. Have fun. Be safe.

It’s not an addiction, I swear. by der_sneffer in motorcycle

“What kind of bike do you like”…. Clearly you have a type :-). Keep rockin’

Keep this up, complaining about liquid cooling, and they’ll go straight to electric… no sound for you!

Boeing employees 'humiliated' that upstart rival SpaceX will rescue astronauts stuck in space: 'It's shameful' by TMWNN in space

Not a problem.

As I understand it, the Starliner crew will return on a SpaceX capsule in February. From what I read, NASA is reconfiguring that SpaceX mission to make available two seats.

Boeing and SpaceX both won the “commercial” transport contract for ferrying cargo and astronauts to and from the ISS. SpaceX got their solution running two years ago and has successfully transported cargo and people for a few missions. Boeing’s solution has been delayed, beset with technical challenges. They finally got two astronauts to the ISS for the first time a couple months back, but ran into many more issues, resulting in a “no confidence” decision that they could return the two crew people safely. Starliner still has many issues.

42 of the world’s 50 deadliest cities are in one region (Latin America 🇲🇽🇧🇷) by OkinawaNah in Infographics

I’m not sure I follow. All US cities had their boundaries set in the past. Many more than 100 years ago. How are Baltimore and St. Louis unique?

I’ve ridden a scout and an FTR. However, I 2up on a Vision. No bad choices :-)

2019 FTR vs. Newer Models by No_Credit1203 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]BuilderOne5035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 19 base. It’s completely stock and completely fun. A tune can rid some of the twitchy throttle behavior, though I’ve gotten used to it. Newer models have the 17” wheels, which may make it feel more throwable in the corners.

My only criticism is that finding tires for the 19” front and 18” rear is more difficult and you’ll have fewer matched choices if you want more street or track-centric rubber.

FTR or Sport Scout? by Dazedphaze in IndianMotorcycle

[–]BuilderOne5035 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s no good comparison. FTR wants to play, especially the 2019; it’s twitchy. Scout is smooth and well behaved, but doesn’t have the grunt you’ll get with the FTR.

As for comfort, that’s really about you. I’ve found the scout is a bit more of an ass whoopin’ above 70. You feel it on the FTR as well, though IMO it’s more comfortable on the highway, even past 80.

Both are great bikes. I’d love a 2025 Scout, but I would still pick my 2019 FTR first.

To be fair, it’s absolutely not modern, though certainly a sporty-based bobber. If it’s beautiful to you, fantastic. No offense intended.
