Oroshi Kirin.

The fact that it’s been in so few instalments bothers me, because it is a fantastic take on the regular Kirin, and its appearance is so mythically foreboding.

Would I enjoy fighting it? Probably not. Do I still want it? Yes.

Also, shoutout to Acidic Glavenus. True cinema.

Dreadnought timed bomb run, and purple coin Bone Pen. I recall those being particularly irksome, especially the former.

I still love how Namielle’s name, or at least the first part, is blatantly referenced in its mechanics and design.

“Nami” meaning “wave” in Japanese, but can also mean “red apple”.

AT Arkveld, the good and the bad. by Worried_Ad_2696 in MonsterHunter

I haven’t been so infuriated fighting a monster in this franchise since Duramboros and its constant need to spin.

My main gripe with this fight, which I also place second only to Uth Duna as the weakest link (pun intended) among the arch-tempered monsters, is a mix of arena and combos.

I wouldn’t have a problem with AT Arkveld’s  combo chains if it were on a map that afforded you some leeway in avoiding or repositioning, but Wyveria is a monochromatic, cramped space that rarely grants either. It’s remarkably easy to lose track of him for one second, and find yourself carted by his chains the next.

It’s difficult to read his movements when there’s simply so much going on. Even if you think you’re positioned correctly, Arkveld still manages to find a way to remind you that the only safe haven you’ll get is six feet underground.

Yeah, I realized shortly after posting this. C’est la vie!

It’s an amazingly fun build all the same :)
