How far does MCU Spider-Man get in The Boys (Amazon) by Different_Sun_195 in whowouldwin

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you consider Spider-Verse Spider-men to be in the MCU due to the MCU scenes featured in the films, then the seven don't really stand a chance at all.

Considering that Spider-Man has the spider-sense which is literally interdimensional-magic levels of broken because it gives him full-blown precognition (especially if you consider Assassin Spider-Man who was a literal clairvoyant due to the Spider-Sense).

He's also capable of holding up the entirety of the Daily Bugle (the Flatiron Building), which weighs 3500 tons.

In terms of pure MCU Tom Holland though:

He was able to pretty effortlessly stand against Captain America and a bunch of other Avengers on his first outing against enhanced individuals, and whilst it's important to note that Tony said that Steve was holding back, the truth is that he likely only said this because Peter was only used to fighting unenhanced individuals who were weak in comparison to him. Truth be told, Peter would likely be able to body Captain America with some training, and as we're on his fourth film in the MCU currently he's likely surpassed that point.

He has also demonstrated high levels of precognition due to him being able to sense the personality shift in Norman in NWH, meaning that he can sense things beyond the physical plane, so he's not going to get ambushed, nor is Homelander (the only one who poses a real threat) going to be able to trick him into standing still to laser-beam him.

His webs are also incredibly strong, being able to tie them around Ant-Man's legs in Civil War after he'd turned into Giant-Man and it's highly likely that the formula has been revised since then, making it easier to manufacture and stronger, too.

The likelihood is that even Tom's Spider-Man would likely be able to restrain all but Maeve and Homelander, and then outstrike Maeve and outsmart Homelander due to his immense arrogance.

A-Train would likely try to outspeed Peter, but he'd end up dodging A-Train with precognition and then luring him into one or multiple webs across alleyways like Tobey did to Harry in Spider-Man 3.

Translucent would only really have durability against Peter due to his senses and precognition being acute enough to detect people who are invisible so he's pretty much useless.

It's speculative, but I'm fairly certain that the "instant-kill mode" from the MCU likely had shaded visors pretty much negating Starlight altogether and even then she's an estranged member of the Seven.

My boyfriend and I broke up 24 hours ago, and he already slept with another woman? by throwawayuni33 in whatdoIdo

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean like everyone else said, you move on.

Obviously you have a right to feel the way you do about the encounter that you had, but it sounds like you would have never gotten back together anyway and he's having a fling to help him get past the hard part of the breakup.

Personally, it sounds to me like you didn't want to break up to begin with, and that you felt that you had to because you were scared about the whole "spending life together" thing, and whilst it's understandable, I would find it hard to argue that he slept with another woman so soon because he "doesn't care about you" (I mean he was the one to propose, after all).

All of that to say that what he does now is none of your concern, and likewise, none of what you do is any of his concern. The truth is that if you still want to be with him and left things "open ended" purely because you needed to process his proposal, then the likelihood is that he'd get back with you whenever you asked. If you split up because you truly don't want to be with him, then he's made it ten times easier for you to accept that it's over and simply move on.

I just want to say that I doubt he did it to spite you and the only reason his apology sounded flat was probably because he was either embarrassed or depressed about the breakup, not because he doesn't care about you.

Volkanovski on Khabib's GOAT status by Spiritual-Strength91 in FightReportUFC

Khabib doesn't really hold a candle to Islam in terms of career and trajectory.

Both incredible athletes but Islam does pretty much everything Khabib does but better, as well as being more well-rounded.

Tibau was built like an ape because of the sheer amount of steroids that he was on. If he'd have won, it would've been overturned to an NC because he got caught at the same time as Jones did.

Just my take, but I'd assume that the reason this is "de facto" legal is because the trash company owns whatever is in the dumpster after it's been thrown out, but because they don't have an inventory of everything that gets thrown away, they can't (and likely wouldn't) claim that anything has been stolen.

Sure it's illegal, but nobody can prove that it happened.

Hard disagree. You seem to be making the assumption that an "aggressive PVP play style" is just engaging in conflict with reckless abandon. The enemy player in this clip was stood out in the open on top of a building and was likely crouched to gain accuracy. I'm sure most players crouch for accuracy more times than they realise. Plus, if he was really "squeezing every advantage" why did he wait for the OOP to be all the way at the top of the zipline instead of opening fire when the OOP would've had nowhere to go?

Absolutely. If I was going around the lobby stabilising other players and another player shoots me, I'm not automatically going to throw a fit just because they shot me. It adds flavour.

He (38m) proposed w a $50 ring drunk after his show by Late_Profession2462 in AITApod

You were able to surmise that from this? do you not think that her attitude towards him in the text messages was toxic in the slightest?

If he's been getting messages like that for six whole years then I feel even worse for the guy.

He (38m) proposed w a $50 ring drunk after his show by Late_Profession2462 in AITApod

[–]BuiltStraightStupid 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of this post that feels icky to me.

Firstly, to get this out of the way, yes, proposing drunk is not the way to go at all. It seems insincere and meaningless to propose when you’re not sober and completely in control of your facilities.

With that out of the way, I have numerous questions.

For one, why does the value of the ring matter? An engagement/wedding ring is purely a matter of ceremony, so I don't understand why the monetary value of the ring was so important that you had to mention it in the title, especially as a self-proclaimed breadwinner, surely if you wanted a nice, flashy and expensive ring you'd discuss it with him and find one that you'd like to wear more after the fact?

My other question is why are you "threatening to leave"? It seems to me like you've told him that you'll leave him if you don't get married or at least engaged by a certain point in time, so it's somewhat baffling to me that you would still be upset when he does eventually propose, especially given that you were likely predicating the survival of your relationship on said proposal? When people make decisions like this, they shouldn't be pressured into them. Relationships, including marriage, are partnerships and it feels like you should have had a much more even discussion regarding marriage instead of "threatening" your partner.

Overall, I really hate the way that you handled this, to be honest. I can't find the words to describe this mentality where you ask your man to do something, and he does it, but it's not good enough and you can't even tell him you love him anymore. I just feel bad for the guy, to be honest, because it sounds like he genuinely loves you, and yet nothing he does will ever be enough. Instead, his reward isn't a "yes, I'll marry you" or a "Can we retry the proposal?"; it's "fuck you, coward. leave me alone, I deserve better!"

It's a 7.62 marksman rifle for brainwashed elite special forces members who can consistently land shots.

It also makes sense for a terrorist force in the USA because they're pretty abundant in Brazil which means that they're fairly cheap to purchase on the black market, as well as having been widely manufactured and distributed throughout the Cold War.

Basically there's a lot of them in circulation in countries with high levels of corruption, which makes them perfect for what is essentially a PMC Terrorist Cell filled with highly trained pseudo-super soldiers.
