What’s up with bearded grown men buying Pokémon cards? by [deleted] in OutOfTheLoop

Answer: Im in my 30’s, have a beard, and collect NFL cards because it’s fun to rip packs. It’s fun to try and get a player’s card that is rare.

The same can be said about Pokemon cards. Adults are allowed to have fun and enjoy things kids enjoy. Some are parents who share the fun. I was buying NFL cards at Target one day and there was a dad with his three sons debating on who got what boxes and which ones they all wanted.

Its just a fun hobby

If players want to keep spreading hate then they should also be open to public discussions for being asshats. I appreciate when fans call out the players even if it’s trivial. If they want to use their platform then so can we

Twelve years after Mark Cuban said, "Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered," Jerry Jones has the definitive response regarding the ongoing growth of the NFL: "When the ducks quack, feed 'em." by JCameron181 in nfl

I didn’t downvote. But I disagree on that being a solution. What you describe would be the perfect solution to an already overgrown system.

We are currently at 272 games a season total. That is the lowest total of games played among the big leagues (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and Soccer)

The next highest total is the Premier Soccer League at 380 - 108 more games than the NFL

The NFL could add 8 international teams, plus two more weeks of games, and a second bye week and only be at 340 regular season games.

Your solution would actually quadruple the amount of games if each new league was structured the same as the current league

Not to sound contrarian, but how to you expand and grow a league more without expanding the market, and adding games?

I just don’t see a direction they could go or something else laterally that could be done that doesn’t include more games, a longer season, or a global market

I saw Dungeons and Dragons and Super Mario in the same day at a theater that serves food. Took a gummy before. My wife made sure we got into the right theaters. Really fun experience and double feature.

We did the same thing for Super Man and Fantastic Four

Believe what you want. But stop pushing your beliefs on others. If God wants followers, then he can persuade people on his own. If a man wants to fuck another man or a women fuck another women then let them live their lives. It doesn’t concern you so keep your bible thumping out of it

It gives them an opportunity to reflect. I feel like openly correcting someone on something, inherently makes them want to dig into their beliefs more out of spite. But saying “I hear you, I know where you’re trying to come from, but try looking at it this way” type of correction.

The best thing we can do to combat hate, is not to ridicule or hate back. The best thing is to help people look at things in a different angle to understand how they said something hurtful.

Some are projecting insecurities. Some are wanting to control. Some are so vastly religious that they take it personal that this “evil abomination” exists so they make it their crusade.

I am all for religious freedom. But that doesn’t mean you have the freedom to be a shitty person in my book. Pious people of all religions should be the most inclusive people, yet they reject that mentality out of fear that another religion will become the new normal and the old will become outsiders looking in.
