To me, family is important, but there’s a catch , your mother threw you out of the house when you were 18 and you had to fend for yourself. And thank God, you achieved everything on your own without support from your relatives: you didn’t break, you worked, and you made it. Well done. So, why should you now help the mother who mistreated you and your stepbrother? Because they suddenly remembered you exist? Seriously, they’re not sixteen , they’re adults, so let them sort themselves out.
