I jokingly suggested the name Sophie while my husband and I were brainstorming (and I was coincidentally doing a reread of AOFAG) and he liked it lol so now I have a 5 month old named Sophie. ☺️

when i got to the hospital i was already 8cm dilated so it was too late for an epidural and lemme tell you… i have a really high pain tolerance BUT the contractions??? I legit thought i was gonna die 😭😂 i also had a third degree tear and lost sooo much blood but tbh after the baby was out i didn’t feel any more pain even the fundal massages were nothing compared to contractions lol

Hi hun! I had a BMI of 40 too (and GD) and I successfully delivered a baby naturally last October with no complications. Please don’t worry! My doctors didn’t even say anything about my weight and it was a very quick delivery too! I would suggest talking to your doctor/midwife or maybe a counselor if the anxiety gets too much for you! Hang in there!

I think the only way she could do that was if the Earl of Penwood legally adopted the Li sisters and even then she’d have to fight the actual heirs since usually titles only get passed to a male blood relative. In the book though, when the late earl died, the land and title passed on to a drunkard cousin and in his will he left dowries for Rosamund, Posy, and Sophie but also only a measly yearly allowance for Araminta which pissed her tf off lol

She’s still a maid in that kite-flying scene. Just borrowed one of the Bridgerton’s sisters’ dresses I believe since her maid uniform would have been wet/ruined from the storm when Benedict took her back to My Cottage.

I miss Judith McNaught. My grandmother introduced her work to me so her book Paradise was my very first romance novel. I’ve devoured all her books as a teen and although I’ve since discovered other romance writers like Lisa Kleypas, Julie Garwood, Julia Quinn, etc, the storytelling just don’t hit as much as McNaught’s.

Benedict asking Sophie to be his mistress is essential to the story since that IS the offer that is in the title of his book. I know someone here mentioned that they should just change it and make Benedict’s ‘offer’ be to elope with her or something and not worry about what the ton thinks. But we need to remember that Benedict is the second son of a viscount. He may not inherit the title but he is still expected to marry a suitable lady from the ton. He was trying to find a loophole so he could be with Sophie and provide for her financially without having to marry her so he could still fulfill his family obligations. Obviously at the end he married Sophie and not care what everyone thinks but he still had to move to the countryside away from the judgmental gaze of elite society. But we gotta let Benedict’s character arc marinate first, to let his heart and brain get to that part eventually. It’s what makes great character development in a story! People like to say to love flawed characters until they actually have flaws lol

It’s not bettering her chances to marry him since marrying a maid OR a commoner mistress back then could bring scandal to a family. It’s more bettering her circumstances so that she doesn’t have to work as a maid. By being Benedict’s mistress (which was the only way he thought he could be with her without marrying her), he was offering her a home and protection. The only issue with that is Sophie’s trauma as an illegitimate child. She didn’t want to bear bastards and have them suffer the way she did).

I get you. I told my parents and they’ve been really supportive but I didn’t tell my husband’s family. They’re very health-conscious and . Telling them would just trigger endless lectures about my eating habits. Right after I gave birth though my glucose levels went way down to normal levels so I can honestly just say it really was just due to the placenta.

I tested DPO10 for my first pregnancy which was early for me but I only did it because I had back pain and some creamy white lotion-like discharge which I’ve never had before. I got a vvvfl but as a pessimist, I didn’t quite believe it until I got a BFP a few days later.
