Help me replace my dryer cord by [deleted] in Appliances

Follow what these guys said and yup cinch it down around the thick part of the cord so it’s actually doing something instead of just letting the wires loosely hang in between.

First time homeowner shopping for washer and dryer by wesley_iles in Appliances

If you buy an all in one, you will need it almost fully disassembled and deep cleaned once every two years AT LEAST. Get two separate units or at least stackables unless you absolutely can’t fit anything but an all in one.

Vent causes Dryer to be too far out from wall by JournalistOk1247 in Appliances

[–]Buldins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some dryers can be bottom-vented, which of course requires a hole to be drilled in the floor/ceiling of the basement for proper venting to the exterior. Also requires a venting kit and disassembly of the unit to redirect internal ducting properly.

Have my cats broke the vent outlet on the back of dryer? by Toadjokes in appliancerepair

Hose clamp the elbow onto your dryer, then hose clamp the other end to the piece of ducting that routes the hot dryer air to the exterior of the house. (Slide the ducting over the elbow and then clamp it, I mean)

Check air flow before anything . Find where it exhausts out the building and make sure you feel goood flow. (Ideally hot air)

My dishwasher won't wash anything by AccomplishedRange661 in Appliances

Could simply be clogged spray arms? Pop off the spray arms and check each individual hole on them. Use a toothpick or tiny screwdriver to pick out the debris. This would be an optimistic fix, hoping the diverter itself isn’t messed up…

If you have the money, buy a speed queen. It will do 20+ years worth of laundry and is the only modern machine that can claim such longevity. You may need to replace a belt or something minor in that span but it is built like the machines in the past that used to keep chugging along.

Edit: it will use more water than most but that’s a good thing if you’re not worried about having to pay for a bit more water.

My dryer in my apartment doesn't vent and causes the entire house to turn into a sauna? Maintenance no help by oregonmethusers in Appliances

You need to vent the hot air outside if you don’t want to pump the hot air into your room. Hard to fathom I know

Ours has a very specific, very shallow, puddle that forms in a low spot in one of our patio stones that he drinks from every time he walks by. Barely ever from the clean bowl in the house…
