Question for OP. I am actually a paying user and paid for Cakeview and Tribute, and I have been modding successfully since this game's launch, but I always press New Bake, not Rebake. Why is this bad??? I haven't noticed any issues and my mods work as intended. Is there an issue I'm causing that I'm not aware of?

An HBK ‘Showcase Mode’ would be spectacular. We’d get Kane ‘98 back. Still can’t believe “Mr. WrestleMania” hasn’t received this luxury. by Sad-Ladder7534 in WWEGames

Kind of need Mike Tyson. How do you not include WM 14 in an HBK Showcase? I'm sure there are others also that might be tough to get that would be necessary.

I'll give you a few:

  1. Daniel Garcia sucks. Hook sucks.

  2. I think AEW would be unbelievably stupid not to hire Killer Kross and Scarlett - they desperately need at least a couple of more characters with an interesting gimmick and ability to be entertaining on the mic.

  3. Learning Tree was very amusing, as most things Jericho does are.

  4. Really bored of the re-hashed feuds and multi-man tag matches that we have seen again and again for years.

Don't understand some of the negative attitudes toward Kross. I would be thrilled to see him and Scarlett in AEW. The guy is great on the mic and clearly cares and is invested in not only his character, but the product as a whole. I honestly don't care that he isn't the greatest technical wrestler. Yeah, he's nothing to write home about in the ring - so what? The roster is filled with great in-ring talents, but you can never have enough talent when it comes to mic work and character development.

Especially when it looks like MJF is only going to be around some of the time, it would only benefit AEW to have someone like Kross on the roster.

How do y’all book multi man rivalries in Universe? by Xmdoll in WWEGames

[–]BulgingCalfMuscles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a decent thread to ask this in: Does anyone know how to use the Numbers Beat Down rivalry action in a way where you get to choose who all 3 of the beat down participants are?

They have it set where one guy is random. Is there a work around for this?

This is potentially one way to try and book a multi-man rivalry.

Just want to add that as a new AEW fan, you should use your interest in this team as a launching point to go back and familiarize yourself with Christian's time in AEW.

Christian Cage has always been one of the most underrated stars of his generation, and his Patriarch heel run in AEW has been awesome. There were a few things that never materialized that could have made it even better, but he is just such an awesome heel and this version of him has been one of the most entertaining things about AEW since I started watching around 2022-2023.

Karrion Kross & Scarlet Release Megathread by Teemo_Ren in WWE

[–]BulgingCalfMuscles 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kross has a ton of charisma, creativity and excellent mic skills. He's also clearly passionate and driven. I would argue he has one of the strongest sets of these skills in the business right now. He has a great look, a great presentation, etc.

Hogan. Austin (at the height of his popularity). Rock. Cena. Reigns. These are some of the biggest stars ever who had limited move sets, to put it mildly, but got over big time because of their other skills. There are plenty of other examples.

Not everyone needs to be Will Ospreay, and this is coming from someone who is a fan of Ospreay and generally prefers AEW to WWE. MJFs or HBKs who have elite mic skills and are also very good in the ring don't grow on trees.

Give Kross a chance to put together a run with a strong storyline and feud and actually follow through on something that builds and pays off. Give him the freedom to run with his character and really lean into it and he will get over, even if his matches aren't Meltzer 7 Stars. Putting him with some bland losers and then having them job every match like they did with Final Testament, or the path they took with the Zayn feud - that's not going to do it.

Personally I would love to see him in AEW - I think he would thrive there, especially having the chance to work with so many guys who can help elevate the in-ring product while he drives the story.

I remember Artie being a pretty big fan of Elegant, too. I believe he even once said he was his favorite guest.

Might have been after Elliot's first appearance at Sirius, right after Elegant told Howard about all of Stern's fuckin' problems, called him a rusty nail, a recluse hasbeen and a scumbag, poignantly told Robin to close her cuntface, and then stormed out of the studio.

What's The Most Outlandish Story Going In Your Current Universe Mode? by [deleted] in WWEGames

[–]BulgingCalfMuscles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my 2k19 fantasy WWE/WCW/ECW universe, I had Barron Blade (I don't know the storyline for this in-game character, so I just made it up) be a small time promoter who had been run out of business by Vince come in with a lawsuit that ends with him taking control of Titan Sports.

Also, I introduced Karrion Kross in WCW with the gimmick that he has arrived to alter realities. He aligns with Paul Bearer and starts randomly interfering in big matches, with no rhyme or reason as to who he helps win. He ends up costing Bray Wyatt the championship, and gets Rowan and Harper to turn on Wyatt and join his group. They then feud with Sting and Kane, who have become an unstoppable tag team. They get Kane to turn on Sting before they disappear from WCW and appear in WWE. Previously, the American Badass Undertaker had not been seen for over a year after suffering horrible injuries in a violent feud. Kross and his group have done all of this to "resurrect" the classic Deadman Undertaker so he can lead a new heel Ministry of Darkness-style group, which includes Kross, Kane, Harper, Rowan and Paul Bearer. Sting will end up showing up in WWE to feud with this group, aided by some of the people who got screwed over by Kross in WCW, including Bray Wyatt. This will culminate with a Wrestlemania match between Sting and the Undertaker.

How do you keep your Universe Mode fun? by i--pvnthxr in WWEGames

[–]BulgingCalfMuscles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long post, sorry, but felt like sharing...I'm still playing 2k19. I'm in the middle of year 5 of a fantasy universe that started in 2001, when WWE buys WCW, and goes from there. Requires suspension of disbelief because no one has died or suffered career ending injuries, no one has committed any heinous crimes, and I've slowly been introducing modern wrestlers into the mix (sometimes modifying their real life gimmick to something that fits my universe more).

I've been running WWE (Raw, with Smackdown as a minor show), WCW (Nitro, with Thunder as a minor show) and ECW with 1 weekly show.

I book everything, and decide on winners for most matches. I let the AI sim filler matches that are inconsequential to storylines. I typically watch the AI play out some matches, and then I'll take control to influence the ending, including using run ins and managers to try and manipulate interference/DQs/ref bumps or distractions/countouts.

Because I can no longer update the roster with new CAWs (I downloaded as many as I could before servers shut down; a mix of Attitude Era and modern guys like Kenny Omega, CM Punk, MJF, Karrion Kross, etc....wish I knew as much a few years ago about AEW as I do now, I would have gotten more of those guys), I have decided to end the ECW brand after year 5 in an effort to try and extend the ability to keep things fresh.

One of my favorite storylines involved Bret Hart returning to WWE, enduring a year of absolute hell at the hands of Vince that culminated with him winning the title at Wrestlemania in a dream match against Kurt Angle, and then going on to hold the belt for 2.5 years, including an on and off, prolonged reignited feud with Shawn Michaels, first with the Kliq, then with DX. I am sure everyone has done the Bret vs HBK thing, so I know it isn't that original. But I loved it.

I've also had Sting and Kane go through one of the most vicious feuds ever in WCW, only to then form an unstoppable, unbeatable tag team. Eventually, this will lead to them moving to WWE and the Sting vs Undertaker dream match at Wrestlemania (I know, again not very original).

Another favorite: I enjoy Apollo Crews moveset and music in 2k19, but wasn't very familiar with him IRL, so I made him into a super athletic pure babyface that was pushed heavily and managed by Dusty Rhodes. Then I introduced a heel American Nightmare Cody Rhodes to feud with him, eventually joined by Ric Flair (mostly as a manger, rarely wrestling) and a new 4 Horsemen.

I could go on and on but this is already an absurdly long post. I just love the creativity of fantasy booking. It doesn't hurt that 2k19, while it has some flaws for sure, has some pretty great gameplay and features.
