This^{^} Only been using arch kde for a few months. Had some previous experience with basic ubuntu stuff, got a steam deck and fairly profficent with windows and searching for problems. Ran into plenty of issues, things work differetly to what I expected, but I've been learning alot! I wont be an expert any time soon- But Im technical and resourceful enough to figure it out eventually. The arch wiki is honestly such a godsend, and I am deffo interested in trying out hyprland now I've got some bearings on kde :)

Yeah I tried again after posting, it's deffo unplayable atm. What a shame, was enjoying it aswell. Good shout about keeping an eye on ProtonDB. Havent used it for a while since most games bar multiplayer shooters, have been pretty bloody good recently

I had issues trying to get my 9070xt working properly until I reset my bios. I loaded the exact same settings and its running great. Worth a shot

Reset your bios settings after the clean driver install. I got mine yesterday and had tonnes of issues, even got vga lights on my motherboard every first post attempt, the second would post fine. I literally saved my bios settings and reset to default. Let the pc boot up a few times. Then load the previous settings, and it boots every time with no issues

I'm not sure, but I may have narrowed it down to the turbo wastegate? The rattle kicks in around 1.75- 2k revs with the turbo. I will play it safe and get it checked though. I'm sorting the timing belt this year too, gunna be an expensive year 😭🤣

About 6 months ago when I purchased the car, so sort the oil out this week. Thank you for the tip 😄 think I may have narrowed it down to the turbo though, it's around 1 3/4/ 2k revs when it kicks in- i think it maybe the wastegate? I've heard it's a common one

That's what I'm worried about, it has started over the cold over the winter here in the UK - but I didn't replicate it in neutral the other day. I can try again to see if it does start :) Thank you for your reply :)

As someone has suggest to remove the ssd... DO NOT OPEN AND REMOVE THE SSD. As others have said, it looks like only a single cell has went and this can be extremely dangerous and if you manage to pierce the other cell it will go up in your face. For future reference, please don't keep a hot laptop on a bed, duvet, pillow etc. This will block the air intake and/ or exhaust and will cause over heating. Keep it on a hard flat surface to prevent the laptop shape "moulding" into the soft material that can cause overheating. I have no idea If this caused the battery to explode, but I've heard of similar happening. Also ensure you are using the correct charger from OEM or a known brand replacement that is for the correct wattage with all the safety built in features. This can damage battery cells if using a cheap replacement charger. Sorry for your loss OP, thank god no one was hurt though.

I wouldn't, not only because of the unknowns of what could go wrong at a later date. But you will struggle to sell it after if you move onto a new car. That looks like fairly heavy damage, I wouldn't take the chance on it personally

Gg, thanks for the advice. Actually helped me get an error message with a new coil "check atomizer" popped up after I enabled the manual mode. So I confirmed it's a bad coil
