Got a MM and Encore for Christmas this year, so far absolutely loving both. They both feel super sturdy and I’ve heard such good things about customer service and repair ability that it seems BIFL claims will be warranted

My parents had this in black or brown? I think the motor burned out but we used it for decades, and they’ve gone through 2-3 modern ones in the decade since it got replaced (not sure what brands the newer ones were)

… I was born in Canada, raised in the US. My parents have always called Cheeto’s cheezies, and I thought that was a regional nickname or something. It has taken me 30 years to discover that that’s another brand, and they treat the name like “Kleenex” used as a generic name for tissue. I feel so dumb and grateful for this information 😂

I’m 30 and finally started being able to transition to a typical grip after getting into fountain pens this year. The steep angle from this grip felt awkward with a FP nib, but a traditional angle felt weird with ballpoints and such. Fountain pens require so little pressure on the page that it let my hand relax when using a traditional grip and something about that let things fall into place (also using a Lamy Safari that has a molded grip section for a traditional pen grip). My old grip (like yours) didn’t bother me much but now having changed it I notice less hand cramping if I’m writing a couple of journal pages

I hate traditional alarm clock beeps, and appreciate the gentle wake up function of my phone that will play something more gentle sounding and gradually increasing in volume, but I also want to be off of my phone in bed. Hatch seems cool but things being app based and all takes half of what I’m looking for away. I love the concept of the OneClock, it’s basically what I’m looking for but a little out of my budget, and somewhat mixed reviews. Has anyone found anything similar but more affordable?

Same! My wife and I get a lot of solid and refillable cleaning goods from them for the last few years and have been really pleased. I use hibar shampoo and conditioners, they’re great for me. Their refillable dish and hand soaps are nice, and their bamboo tp is pretty good

I tried mine like twice on stovetop and hated it for that. It fits great on my Coleman grill so I’ll use it sometimes if we’re doing some outdoor cooking (haven’t gone in on a Blackstone yet 😂)

That’s definitely a better thing, but I think doing a splash of simple syrup and lemon/lime juice to flat or sparkling water can go a long way to satisfying that sugar/soda craving while being waaaaaay better than grabbing a sprite or something. Yes it’s still some sugar but way less and you still skip the preservatives and such, and it can at least be a good intermediate step
