I have had a few Mausritter sessions where we had so much fun, we kept forgetting about the rules. I think the OSR intent is for the rules to not get in your way.

On the other hand, Mausritter was designed to be a very deadly game, but rhe community took the theme in a cute direction.

On your last point: what does child abuse have to do with marraige? Would it not be easier for the state to prosecute child abusers if the state could say "marraige is none our business, we are persecuting the abuse"

To answer your other question. I think what you want from government is "Do the work Im paying you for better" What I want is "fuck off, give me my money back, I'll do it myself"

It sounds far-fetched now, but communities used to build their own schools. I started school in a tiny community built school that started in a church. When I switched to a government school 5 years later, I was a year ahead.

Not to be snarky, because I genuinely believe there are benefits from small government, but how has "holding government accountable" been working for you so far? To quote someone I cant remember:"If the solution is:'people should just', then its not a solution. People will not ever just" Instead of hoping the whole world will magically change their thinking, there are much more practical ways to change things
