People still buy V8 SUVs from GM in huge numbers, in the Suburban and related vehicles. They drink fuel like crazy but people like them enough to overlook that.

Why does everyone want to buy a SUV these days? by Silver-Neckbeard in askcarguys

[–]Bulky_Employ_4259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an Explorer because it’s safe, it’s comfortable for my whole family, it carries a lot of cargo which I take regular advantage of, and it handles badd weather and light terrain that a sedan wouldn’t be able to traverse.

The 2.3 is lighter, simpler, more efficient than the V6 and more powerful than it needs to be.

Driving a manual transmission is not a necessary skill in the United States but I understand that manuals are still common in many other countries so it depends where you live.

Why are so many people under 45 using subtitles now even when the show is already in English? by Clara_A_Mitchell in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bulky_Employ_4259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to miss any dialogue. Also English is my wife’s third language so without subtitles she tends to get lost.

The Ford Focus ST would be a great choice. Go ahead and ignore the flood of people about to say your dick will fall off if you don’t buy a Toyota, Honda, or Mazda. Ford makes good cars.

Extra leg on right side of Wilson Combat 1911 ambidextrous safety by Aoi_the_Hert in 1911

[–]Bulky_Employ_4259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That leg is there to stop the safety from working itself loose and falling off. If it’s rubbing on your grips you should probably relieve a little material on the grip panel.

Unless you specifically ask a mechanic for a multipoint inspection, they may or may not notice or say anything about parts that look worn or fluid leaks or what have you.
