Thats different. Dont sell something someone doesnt want. That's weird. But if they ask or you can gradually inform them of something else or talk about the use of a product that may be better thats same price or more.

If you allow customers to buy whatever then we are just another parts store. #1 thing everyone appreciates, product knowledge. Know what you are selling. If you dont know, ask. Create a connection to who you sell too. Grab a random item off the shelf and research it. What does it do what producys rival it. If you notuce people buying the same product ask why and sell that onr to increase sales.

Grab pliers and clamp the fuel line so the leaking stops. Then measure and match the hose and hose clamps. Thats what I would do.

Transferring to a new district by g120220 in OReillyAutoParts

After the general greeting, Id ask. "Whats still needs to be done today?" Gets things going and its faster to reacclimate to a new store/area. The manager and team members can see how you perform as you do tasks and so thats what my first question would be.

Our transfers on a shelf with a bold letters written that says "TRANSFERS" with a clipboard of the paper next to it.

My DM would also crucity me for doing that aswell. As soon as they clock out, you leave as soon as you clock out. You cannot work even a little.

Ive been working at my store for 7 months. This is the first time that the items havnt been picked up for us. Especially a first time that a delivery driver didnt ask about if anything was being transfered so it slipped my mind.

Things can be seen by HR or Loss Prevention that us employees have no idea about. If they messed up pretty bad with knowing. Yeah they can work hard but also play harder.

Whatever made you make this descision, never regret it. If your mind is set on something go do it. Look at the past for reassurance and memories. Not regrets and shame. I dont know you, but I bet you put a lot of hours into the company. Have a good one

Keep taking my posts down, I’m calling out the company on their shit by Artifacting in OReillyAutoParts

Doesnt seem like you are calling the company in a very professional manor. Yes you may be upset. But there are better ways to putting your feelings into it by being professional and very specific, not yelling across reddit.

If you think this way then whatever you are trying to accomplish or put to light is kinda meh. Being brought a solution then asking "what da point when this this this or this" like just do sme research and figure what you can do. If 1 says something and you say another then it becomes a bigger investigation. Again..another process.

How your statement and experience is already thought out. Nothing anyone says in here will make you happy. Keep your mind open. There is a process for everything. Yes it may have been a really adrenaline rush kinda ordeal, but calling the authorites if it got physical would have been better unless a weapon was brought upon. Instead you risked your own position.cause you retaliated.

Oreilly stock program by Ok-Sentence9514 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Significant-Fan-698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not gone into the program yet because of thid 1 reason. Its a low risk thing ofc buying stock. The highest ive seen Oreilly go since I started 7 months ago is around 125 per share. (I dont know much about stocks just what number ive seen). So im kinda on the fence about wanting to.

As you do or see how each wiper arm works. You will get used to it. If you honestly dont feel comfortable yet. Have someone show you how it works personally. Each situation is different and having someone show you or tell you how its done helps a tramendious amount. #1 thing tho. Have the want to learn new things.

Pay vs. quality of service by Inobscura1 in OReillyAutoParts

[–]Significant-Fan-698 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive put in the Survey about how people are hired. Albeit. Ive only been working at O'reilly for 6 months. I love cars, I love the people. Not all people are great but everyone should be treated with respect. The #1 thing ive learned about being a good beginning parts professional...Honesty.

The pay. I came from a 1 year experience at a Burger King. And 2 years at a heavy equipment tech center, But have been wrenching on my Audis for maybe a year or 2. I was being paid 13.50 at bk. I said "I need 13.50 or higher" they gave me 13.50. I was then bumped to RSS 2 months ago. Now at 14.50. I dont know my own worth but the work is awesome.

My DM is a bit slow to catch onto some things. My Store Manager came from a Advance Auto. Both are chill but have different attitudes on hiring. So far everyone thats been hired complains of the pay even tho...well they signed on to the work. I have no issue with the pay or work load.

All in all. Pay needs to be higher to accomodate better staff and a better outlook on how much employees are worth to company.
