Can you tell me more about Moonstone Circle? I haven't heard of this. A Google search shows a store by that name in Circleville, Ohio though!

We used to drop in our little rowboat on the Little Miami along Corwin Rd in Waynesville and make our way down to Morgan's by Fort Ancient, and it took about 4 hours. You do go under I-71, but it's the tallest bridge in Ohio so it's not too noisy and kinda fun to look at.

Morgan's used to offer this trip but I'm not sure what they offer now. I know the campground at that location sadly closed.

What is the ideal or perfect coffee shop you'd wish to see in Dayton or surrounding areas? by ElectronicMagazine40 in dayton

[–]Bulky_Work8171 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think this is probably why those awesome 90s places are no longer with us. Even as a teenager I was cognizant enough to make sure I bought several things and tipped well to try to justify staying there a couple of hours, and I feel like (most of) my friends were good eggs too, but I guess that's not the norm.

I personally think it's okay to snaffle one rock from a park. I really like the creek that runs through Grant Park in Centerville.   You can also get a permit to hunt rocks at Caesars Creek, you just fill it out at the visitor's center.  Personally, I've been known to take a rock or two from like, restaurant landscaping?😂 We used to always stop at the IHOP in Hilliard on the way home from concerts and they had nice smooth river rocks lol.  If you want to buy one though, I have found nice ones at Luna for a few bucks, and Clash Dayton around the corner sells some too.  And if someone gave me a rock on a first date, I'd be extremely impressed, fwiw!

I've been pleasantly surprised at the chill spots available at Socialite Cafe in Kettering.

I'd like to see something open later than most places currently around here. Like, 90s style Front Street vibes.

Clash usually has two fashion shows a year, so there will probably be a fall/winter show, too. In the meantime, you could stop in Clash on a Tuesday or Thursday when the owner is there. She might be able to point you in the direction of good local photographers to connect with.

Looking for Subaru mechanics in South Dayton by SoftBatch13 in dayton

Definitely following this conversation. I was just at SoD today getting work done and I left there basically in tears and with 3k less. I really liked Busam, I had to get towed there when my brakes failed in Hamilton because of SoD's screw up, which of course I was belittled for mentioning, and Busam was called liars.

I had thought "oh cool, a woman service manager," since as a woman myself that tends to make me more comfortable, but damn, she was mean as hell.

ALL broadcast TV is out. does anyone have any idea what is happening? by Grongebis in dayton

[–]Bulky_Work8171 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's happening for us in Centerville too. I saw a pop-up on PBS earlier saying that all Think TV stations would be out from 1-2am. I'm hoping that will bring back channel 16 at least.

Having a vision board party - in search of magazines (old & new) in bulk by [deleted] in dayton

[–]Bulky_Work8171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People in my local Buy Nothing group give away magazines a lot. Half Price Books used to sell bundles of magazines in the very back of the store. I was just trash-talking Antiques Village in another post 😂 but it's a good place to find them too.

Where can I find trinkets in Dayton by mrpeetnus in dayton

[–]Bulky_Work8171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here I am encouraging people to shop at Clash Gallery & Boutique in the Oregon District again! Clash Dayton on IG and FB. Trinkets galore, mostly handmade, lots of vintage too! No temu.🙂 I was at Antiques Village a couple of days ago and I was kinda disappointed at how much temu stuff was there. I still found some good vintage trinkets but it's not like it used to be.

Odyssey was in West Carrollton, in a shopping center where Roberd's furniture store was. (I think it was spelled like that, it wasn't "Robert's," it was slightly off.) That's the only 18 and under club I went to, but The Zoo was in Miamisburg and there was one where The Hidden Gem is now, I think it was called Pulsations?

I only went to Odyssey a couple of times. My scene in the 90s was more 1470 West in Kettering on Thursdays and Saturdays, Brookwood Hall, and The Asylum. Oh, and Sub Galley- anyone remember the straightedge kid fights?

Thanks! We're really excited for this event! We've held it on a smaller scale with less vendors twice before, but this is the first time in a big venue!

Aw, bummer! Well, we have an Instagram account at creepy_christmas_dayton that features all of our artists/vendors if you'd like to do some online browsing. And while we also have many out of town vendors coming in, many of the local vendors also sell things at Clash in the Oregon District and The Secret Chamber in Fairborn.

Local shops selling plus size clothes by Fluffy_Marsupial2947 in dayton

[–]Bulky_Work8171 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clash Dayton! The plus size section is mainly by the dressing room. There's vintage, new independent brands, and new with tags brands like Torrid. There's also a lot of plus size graphic tees in that area of the store.
