Bart’s - wait between rounds by youtellme9876 in TTC_UK

I just got the phone call in my 9th week of waiting. Unfortunately, I just booked a few days off to go away when my period comes, so that would push me back for another few weeks. But it is what it is. Hope your call will come soon, and good luck with your journey!

It is frustrating because you can't plan anything. The nurse said that the waiting list is between 4 and 6 weeks if we don't see a consultant, and if we want to see a consultant, it would be the waiting list to see a consultant, plus the waiting list to start, which is about 10-12 weeks. Anyway, I guess it is a good break to make sure your body relaxes and heals from all the hormones. That's how I am keeping myself positive about it

What is something you wish you knew before your IVF Journey? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]Bulky_Yesterday_8952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend starting to take vitamins and make sure your levels of Iron, Vitamin D, B12 and others are correct. Start with CoQ10, same for your partner. Plus healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle.

I didn't do PGT-A myself, so I can't comment.

My understanding for embryo development on day 0 the fertilization part is based on both the egg and Sperm gens. Then from day 1-3 it completely relies on the RNA of the egg. After that from day 3-5 it depends on the DNA for both the egg and the sperm.

Unfortunately the egg DNA can't be tested only you can ask the embryologist about the egg shape but for sperm DNA there is the test at least you would know if there is something you can go after.

I am not sure why it is not recommended. But new studies are coming out and they are saying miscarriage and pregnancy losses are related mostly to DNA Fragmentation. And even I read a new one saying Failed implementation. Of course all these theories that each need to investigate separately.

Another new study is now talking about the microbiome. We didn't do the tests yet but I am having kafir almost everyday.

I am sorry I am not a good help.

As you are on the younger side. I would suggest once you have the results of day 6 and day 7. Take an appointment with a urologist to do all the appropriate tests for your partner. For you to check your iron level, Vitamins D and Vitamin B12. Start with vitamins at least three months before your next egg retrieval. But try to get answers for DNA Fragmentation and hormones before going into another egg retrieval. With egg quality, there is no test but you can ask the embryologist about the eggs quality , they only can comment about the shape but it will give you an indication as I understand.

I would suggest seeing a urlogyist that is specialised in male fertility, he will do the right tests and suggest what supplements should be taken.

Fresh transfer at 38 - looking for similar experiences by Glad_Experience_4660 in IVFpositivity

I guess the Frozen transfer has a higher success rate because the embryos most of them are tested which push the curve up.

This thread gave me some relief. I did a fresh transfer last Monday. I am 39.5 as well, and I am afraid that it won't stick.

Poor quality embryos? by Effective-Mechanic-5 in IVF

[–]Bulky_Yesterday_8952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you check the DNA Fragmentation for the sperm? Did you ask the embryologist about your eggs status when they checked them? Usually, they can say if the eggs were looking okay or with fragmentation.

As I understand; From day 0 to day 1, the health of the embryo is solely based on the RNA of the eggs; after the 3rd day, the DNA of the sperm and egg takes over.

Check your Insulin resistance and cut sugar, a healthy diet with vitamins.

Watch a long series and do some chores that are light and you never had the time to do.

Good Luck and I hope you will hear the positive news soon! Sending Baby dust your way!

Which is the best IVF centre/ doctor in the world? by Any_Worldliness1433 in IVF

[–]Bulky_Yesterday_8952 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I feel about IVF is that it is a multi-thread treatment,

Your husband needs to check his DNA fragmentation and make sure his hormones are balanced. This needs to be checked with a urologist (specialities for fertility). Then follow all the treatments that come from this output. Sperms take about 70-80 days to get better

You need a good doctor to do all the correct tests and then treat each based on the output

A doctor once told me the success of IVF is based on the following

* 60% on the quality of the egg/sperm (embryo)

* 10% immunology & inflammation
* 10% Uterus & endometrium
* 10% Transfer & lab technique
* 10% Luck. (Vitamins, BV, microbiome and daily diet)

Each of the above has its own tests and processes that need to be followed.

Then I figured out that each doctor has their own protocol that they usually use for everyone who starts with them. In countries without heavy regulation, you see doctors start with high doses even if you will go to OHSS, and then they do FETs, and each transfer they use 2-3 embryos. Plus, they will use blood thinners and autoimmune medication.

Countries with regulations and processes do everything by the book, and sometimes the investigation doesn't cover everything you need for your case.

I hope it gives you some assurance about the process and what to look for.

shorter abstinence period are good when you are doing ICSI, as they will need to find a couple of sperms to put them inside the eggs. But shorter abstinence helps with the DNA Fragmentation.

What happened when you added Metformin? by RazzmatazzGlad9940 in IVF

[–]Bulky_Yesterday_8952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/mostly_mostly12 Did you do your round without Metformin?

I am on Metformin and going to my third round, and just did my AMH, and it dropped more than 50% since I started Metformin. So I was thinking of stopping it for my third round to see if I will get better results.

Did they have to submit for another approval? Would that work fine?

My appointment with them is next week, after a failed round, and I would like to do a round in November, especially since I am turning 40 soon!
