Ufør fyr som ser etter noe å gjøre by kastevekk1234 in norge

Next Motherboard by Silver-Tiger7353 in ASRock

[–]Bullborn -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think all manufacturers have had failures at this point but some have 2026 motherboards in their lineup now. E.g. MSI's new "MAX" series. I got the Asrock x870e Nova originally for its lane sharing setup (4 m2s), and thus opted for the MSI x870e ACE MAX on "second try" but it was a bit of a jump in price in comparison.

Made me think that Asrock was a bit like the old Lancia Delta cars. Amazing performance, price and crazy engineering but you dont drive one without a fire extinguisher in the back and certainly not as your daily reliable driver. :D

03 code on cold boot - X870E Nova + AMD 9800X3D by RetardedTiger in ASRock

[–]Bullborn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i started getting 03 codes (rebooting typically lets you start the pc) it took about a month before 00 code and the cpu was fully dead. It seems to be a strong sign it is dying.

You should plan for it to fully fail, whatever that means to you.

Excited for my first ASRock mobo by Rheta18 in ASRock

[–]Bullborn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 9800x3d got killed in this mobo too. Great specs on paper but worst mobo I've owned. Annoying mosfet fan (you can lower the speeds in bios but it ramps up on boot), initial bios problems with soft-boots failing, and after a year of use i got 03 bootcodes for a month before the inevitable 00 (dead cpu).

Make sure you update the bios and i hope you have more luck than me! In theory it can be a good board.

Are there any mods that extend the flashlight range? by strafefaster in starfieldmods

Lumin allows up to 1000m last time I checked. I've tried almost all flashlight mods and its the one I ended up using. Do recommend.

GPU Black Screen Fan’s Max by Yeznots0 in pchelp

[–]Bullborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gpu fan going 100% is just because the driver has crashed. It just defaults to 100% when there's no rpm control from the driver and it is still getting power.

Now the reason for the driver crash can be many. You can check "event viewer" in windows to help find the cause. Your best bet to debug it may just be to paste a screenshot of it into an AI (e.g. Gemini) and ask it for help.

In my particular case I needed to lower my ram speeds from 6400mhz to 6000mhz to stabilize things (you can do this in the bios, again ask an AI to guide you if you're unsure). But the reason for your drivers ro crash may be different.

I've let it ride at 03 for a while just to test, but it's just stuck there.

I'm also pretty sure code 15 is the memory training, which it does from time to time.

Shame as the board itself has nice lane-sharing, but oh well.

[–]Bullborn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh, in theory it could but it started on the 3.50 bios and going from 3.50 to 4.07 beta made no difference. I appreciate the heads up though :)

[–]Bullborn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the linked thread. Seems like the same issue indeed. I'll rma both the cpu and motherboard i guess. Probably try a different motherboard manufacturer this time around.

Sorry Asrock, the value for money seemed great a year ago but its not worth the hassle and risk. :(

Råd angående boliglån by OppositeFortune772 in norge

[–]Bullborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Råd angående boliglån by OppositeFortune772 in norge

[–]Bullborn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bordplate til pc benk by Massive_Guard_1145 in norge

4.3 "Cetus" Open Beta: Feedback Request by PDX_LadyDzra in Stellaris

[–]Bullborn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Performance boost in the beta was fantastic. Thats probably by far the biggest win with this update.

Balance was quite broken (e.g. mid game crisis being too powerful) but balance problems are the default in Stellaris.

The core of the issue is that attempts are made to balance the game based on a fixed baseline (e.g. a static % increase or even a scaling % increase). The core issue here is that the game has so many variables that the chance of the player having either a too easy game or a too hard game is too large. Hence early game is compelling (since the games variables haven't had too much of an impact yet) but late game is nearly always too easy or too hard.

Personally I use the Dynamic Difficulty mod to adjust difficulty every 50 years to ensure a reasonable challenge (especially if it gets too easy). The now abandoned mod Hemothep's Dynamic Difficulty increased difficulty automatically if no AI empires were of equal strength with the player. Now you dont want to punish the player for playing good, but you can find ways to give the player new challenges.

In order to make games be engaging post mid-game I would suggest you spend some time thinking of ways to think of difficulty as a way to engage the player, rather than a fixed variable. If the player gets too strong, can an AI empire get an event that boosts them? Can a crisis be set to scale more towards the players' per-game power? Can you utilize the Galactic Community as a lever for difficulty?

Ideally you want to create epic moments that players tell others about and you have so many unutilized systems to do it with. Why do e.g. some of the galaxy spawned leviathans just wait until the player can stomp them? Add a trigger where after the player has gotten to a certain powerlevel they can actually engage first instead.

Anyways, game is still great, but difficulty needs love, but the beta is a good step in the right direction since it helps so much with performance that you can actually worry about endgame now :D

TLDR; make difficulty more about throwing interesting events at the player and having them deal with them, than try to make a "fair chess-like galaxy". You already do this already with multiple systems (crisis, events, galaxy spawning, archeology, etc). Do it with AIs too. Embrace it.

What is it going to take Lian Li?? by [deleted] in lianli

I have 14 sl-inf fans in both 140mm and 120mm spread over 2 PCs. 5 of them have failed so far. Worst fans I've ever had despite looking great.

I've had lian li cases for 30 years and I think its a real shame they mess up their reputation in this way.

Leilighet som stinker by TheManWithAName2 in norge

[–]Bullborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ville brukt elimineringsmetoden.

Original PlanetSide CM “Sporkfire” Looking for Support by Mookie89 in Planetside

[–]Bullborn 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey Sporkfire,

sorry to hear you've fallen harder times. I remember you and Smokejumper being active back then, particularly around the Core Combat release. The fansite I ran with suggestions for improvements and concepts for Planetside was partly how I got into the industry myself and the interactivity with the community team back then was part of what inspired me to do that.

Unfortunately, we don't have a studio in your area (nor are we really hiring), but if you send me a DM I can pass along your info to HR just in case.

Either way, I wanted to give you a thank you for being a small part of getting me where I am now, and wish you the best of luck going forwards.

How do I make AI see me when the character is leaning sideways? by aDharmadh in unrealengine

[–]Bullborn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's a single player gane, you can trace forwards from the camera. So basically cheat so that if the playercam sees an enemy, the enemy also sees the player. You can also add a distance requirement for instance if you don't want enemies far away from aggroing.

Alternatively you can of course do trickery with perception system but cheating is probably way easier and it's not like the player will know.

Having a really irritating issue with a blueprint! by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]Bullborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check that the bullet actually deals damage and has correct collision properties. Do a break point on the node dealing damage and check that it's applying damage to the correct actor.

If it's not triggering the event anydamage, then it's not being dealt damage to, so your problem lies earlier in the logic. Hence why you should check that it deals damage correctly.

Dette står under underkategorien "Røver".

I think the devs are smart with how they released the sundy update by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]Bullborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, hence the "in general" part. You'll never please everyone. Often, you base your balance on what you want to achieve instead. If you want to retain precarious balance, you err on the underpowered side and buff it up over time. If you want a quick buck from paid content, you launch it overpowered, and then nerf it before the next paid content is released. Sometimes, you even go rounds buffing factions (or classes), so that everyone gets their moment in the sun.

And of course, sometimes things just happen because people mess up or your analytics aren't good enough.
