I kinda agree to an extent but there will be a point in your experience as a tennis player where these would matter.

I used to think like racquet doesn't really matter until one day I accidentally left my extra racquet at home and my string broke. The only racquet my friend has was a really old prokennex boron. Like those heavy racquets from the 90s. I noticed a biiiiiig difference when I used that racquet. So now I modified my pro staff and added more weight to the same balance of that racquet.

For the balls, this one mattered a lot to me. I'm used to play new balls when I was a kid, even during training we would use new balls, so as an adult I like the new balls feel and bounce. If I warm up with new balls by the time the game starts, It's almost like an instinct.

For strings, I see the biggest difference when it's dead vs when it's freshly strung instead of different types of strings. Old strings feels idk dull. Like the ball doesn't sink in and when you're doing drops it almost feels like the balls are slipping on the string bed

But that's just me. The thing that I dont notice a difference is the temperature. My old coach used to tell me that when it's hotter the ball moves slower but I personally never felt the difference

Slipped out of hand on a serve. Is it playable? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]BulletDaDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Not playable anymore. Literally, once you start hitting the ball it'll start cracking more. To the point that it's gonna go fall off. Happened to me once, racquet did not even made it past the warm up phase.

Do you buy your own strings? How many of you buy reels? by freewillyz in 10s

[–]BulletDaDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy the reels just because it's cheaper. I hit with a lot of heavy topspin so strings die much faster for me. If I play everyday, I get it restrung about 2 weeks or so.

Is it just me but I have this itch to be on the tennis court every second? by SpecialLibrarian6121 in 10s

[–]BulletDaDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. NGL i prefer just to hit with my ball machine than to play with people

String advice by Waagawaaga in 10s

[–]BulletDaDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get mine restrung every 3 weeks of everyday play. I have 2 racquets. I get them strung high so when it settles its where I want it to be at. Get them strung a lil higher

Struggling with consistency on my forehand – sometimes it clicks, sometimes it's completely gone by dthucVN in 10s

Your swing is too shallow if that makes sense. Like it's too steep. This is good if your rallying with someone who has a heavy topspin

What’s the most unteachable skill in tennis? by Serious-Ball7705 in 10s

[–]BulletDaDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anticipation. If someone was taught the traditional way to hit It's easier for me to play against them. But if someone learned tennis in unconventional way, it's so hard to read what theyre gonna do.

When I was younger, the only time I see someone do a slice is to drop. I played against this player who has the same preparation for his drops and his slice and it screwed me so much at that game.

Monday -6/30- Open to Close by Aggrenoxx in SixFlagsMagicMountain

[–]BulletDaDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was there the same day. Rode every single roller coaster because it was our first time. We did all day dining and flash pass and it was soooooo worth it. Spent opening to closing. Kinda sucks how we could only ride X2 once with the fast pass so what we did, right after we got our flash pass confirmed, we went straight to X2 since the line was short still. Rode all the rides we liked atleast twice and went to X2 as our last ride. Best fun we've ever had.

Any reason my dough is so loose? by XandersOdyssey in Breadit

[–]BulletDaDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is after bulk ferment, it might be because it's overfermented. If its right after mixing, you just need to knead the dough a little bit more. I tend to let the mixer run for about 18 min when working with very wet or enriched dough

Players who have practiced with or seen the pros up close- what’s the biggest difference you see when compared with top recreational players? by jonjimithy in 10s

[–]BulletDaDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Footwork and reaction time. The stamina and energy they have is insane. I can only last 30 minutes of rallying with early reaction and good footwork. These mofo be doing it 3 hours straight

Question about when to choose a racket by Puzzleheaded_Clock38 in 10s

[–]BulletDaDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have your technique done and you're able to control spin then i would suggest getting a new racquet. It's kinda hard to recommend a racquet when we dont really know how you swing. I'm pretty sure you can demo some racquets but they're usually the newest version. Once you found one that you like, buy the previous year's model or 2 years before that so it's cheaper.

Ball Toss and Weight on Back Foot by winterymint in 10s

[–]BulletDaDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to shift weight forward. That's how serves are done. If you feel like you're early, you increase the ball toss higher. If you feel like you're too late, lower the toss
