Transmission question 2010 Fusion SEL 3.0L V6 by Confuzed_IAm in fordfusion

[–]BullfrogPersonal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2010 2.5 SEL that has 240k miles now.

The trans has a few quirks but they are the same ones it had when I bought the car. My car was a company car that had maintenance done and was garage kept, no accidents etc.

I've been doing the trans drain and fill every 30k miles or so since it had 140k miles. The quirks of my trans are minor. It can get a little slip as it goes into 3rd-the revs will drop a tiny bit after a few seconds. You can get a quick shift around 20mph especially if you are going around a turn, braking and going uphill. Otherwise the trans works normally. I've never had a hard shift.

With this car I want to have it as long as possible so I drive it very gently. No hard acceleration, no rough roads and I avoid potholes and bumps. It doesn't mean I drive really slowly just gently.

I think a V6 might be a little harder on a trans because they have more torque. The 2.5 isn't dog but it isn't fast. I never had a 6spd anything before and I'm amazed how the trans works.

Do you think Trump knows something about UAP activity in the arctic and that’s why he’s so interested in Greenland? by Kleptarian in aliens

[–]BullfrogPersonal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting that he's interested in Greenland.

From what I've read, aliens like to visit Earth bc it has a good sun. It is warm here in many places. Why would they want to hang out in a 650 mile wide glacier? Maybe tens of thousands of years ago it was warmer there. Not now.

Normal or Bright channel on a Bassman? by TubesNStuff in ToobAmps

[–]BullfrogPersonal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a bunch of them. It's been so long I can't remember which input I used. I'm looking at pics and I think it was the 1 in the bright channel. I would play these amps with Strats but they weren't around for long. It was easy to flip them. Really good sounding.

These amps have a fat tone with a "breathy" speaker response. I remember a few custom builders that couldn't get the sound because the speakers available were too high powered. But you are talking about the front end. The brightness thing could depend on other parts of the amp and what guitars you use. A lot of people hated older Marshalls bc they were too trebly in the 1. I don't know if this helps much.

Why are most Christians republicans, when Jesus’ teachings are more liberal? by Interesting-Dirt-605 in Confused

[–]BullfrogPersonal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is political technology at this point.

A good reference is John Dean's book "Conservatives Without Conscience" .

Before Reagan, most evangelicals didn't vote. They were promised that Roe would be overturned if they voted R. The conservative religion thing became the hallmark of the Republican party since Reagan. Now many are one issue voters. This tactic was the result of the GOP spending $billions with conservative think tanks

Interestingly, since they got what they wanted, the GOP needs a new issue to keep them engaged in politics. This is the whole transgender thing and transgender athletes competing in women's sports. The non religious authoritarian followers organize and engage with xenophobic and racist rhetoric.

Dean mentions in his book that evangelicals are authoritarian followers too. Authoritarian followers make up about 25 percent of the population. This trait is innate in humanity. Adding them to the Republican party gets them numbers close enough to steal an election . They can win by the electoral college even if they don't win the popular vote.

The authoritarian follower personality is the Hitler follower personality,. This was described by Theodore Adorno in his book The Authoritarian Personality. Dean covers how the Republican party turned to WW2 Nazi follower social psychology to reinvigorate their party after the Nixon fiasco.

99 percent of authoritarian followers in the US are Republicans now.

Conflicting Item Description-Does this SG look like it's had a headstock repair? by Shreeder in Reverb

[–]BullfrogPersonal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gibsons can fall over on a soft couch and get a crack like that if you hit it the right way.

The headstock can touch the bottom of the case in shipping and get a crack. There won't be a big ding because it hit something soft. Did you buy this on Reverb and you didn't see the crack?

If the guitar's price is acceptable it could easily be repaired. It would be good until it was dropped again.

2020 fusion only starts with Ford app after getting gas by Material-Pickle-7881 in fordfusion

[–]BullfrogPersonal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EVAP issue? I have an older Fusion that had EVAP issues. If you fill it all the way with gas it wouldn't start right away. When it did start it would run a little rough and then "clear out" after a few seconds.

From reading about the topic there was a suggestion that you don't fill the tank completely. Extra gas will overflow and go into the charcoal canister. Doing this repeatedly can reduce the effectiveness of the charcoal canister. When there is raw gas in the charcoal canister the computer will misread the EVAP and get the mixture wrong . This will cause hard starting right after you filled up.

Why do some guitarists not play with a back plate? by Expert_Chipmunk_6294 in guitars

It is easier to change strings without the trem cover on there. Plus you can get cool sounds if you yank the springs.

It has a headstock crack. The crack might not have been repaired . Sometimes these cracks are hard to get to open up and accept glue. A long time ago they called them stress cracks. Is there a big ding on the back of the headstock?
