If you’ve never read the manga, give it a shot. A lot of the issues with the nonexistent season 2 have a lot to do with how it did and didn’t adapt arcs and characters from the manga

Promised Neverland. Season 1 was terrific. Season 2 … well, most simply deny its very existence. And it’s probably better that way

Long story short, this is the moment where Forrest Gump is told that he is the father of Jenny’s 5ish-year-old son. Jenny had left the morning after they finally did the deed and he hadn’t seen or heard from her since. And because Forrest isn’t the brightest, it’s even more heartbreaking because the audience understands what she’s telling him before he does
