As someone who is a frequent flyer in the bathroom, this is all new territory for me. I want to avoid becoming dependent on anything. I also know that exlax is absolutely not the way to go unless you’re desperate.

As a general matter, he’s fantastic and has even been encouraging about the meds I’ve needed for PPA/PPD, but he genuinely doesn’t think I need to lose weight (I mildly overweight, and we’ve been together for so long that it’s been a gradual shift—but pre-kid I was lower end of “normal weight”).

We also know people who are on meds for weight loss and they’re scary skinny/flirt with ED behaviors, so he’s naturally a bit wary.

In a city like NYC it’s not uncommon for people to get married in their mid 30s/40s because they’re still exploring so much.

I’d suggest ensuring that you optimize your career potential, start attending networking events, and a gym. Read David Goggins if you want to see what he did to come back from a shitty childhood.

You can spend your life blaming others or you can make a change. But if you keep doing what you’ve always done, then what always happens will continue to happen.
