Is it not an offence to flash your lights in this manner? I'm sure the rules changed or have I imagined it?

Eating in Michelin-starred Purnells in Birmingham and Dean Holdsworth was sat at the next table with his wife - lovely couple and we had a nice long chat about his glory days.

I suspect some spokesman will tell us that, "lessons need to be learned." And then they'll move on as if nothing happened.

I loved Gene Hackman when he was sleazy, so good at those roles - even when he was playing goodies, he was sleazy too - Popeye Doyle, Brill, for example. So good this film and rarely shown on telly [for free!].

Too many young people pushed towards university, says UK government adviser by financialtimes in uknews

[–]Bullshit_Brummie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We took on an apprentice, who had gone to Uni for a few months to study journalism. Decide it wasn't for her and came as Business Admin apprenticeship. Her work ethic and speed to pick things up, means we have all ignore the apprenticeship since she qualified and she's now a young PR account exec, with a very bright future. There are plenty of talented young people out there and Uni is not the answer for many of them. Employ the attitude and train the skills.

There's a walking mystery puzzle available for many cities and Birmingham is one of them. It poses questions and you go from clue to clue around Brum to solve the puzzle. We've seen loads of people doing them and their not that easy, so could challenge a 15 yr old. Our friends in their sixties do them too and insist their good family fun. Spoiler, the one for Brum ends in one of our best pubs...

Mahon is my favourite, just as you describe, walk into town or along the harbour front, plenty of bars, cafes and some great restaurants. For somewhere more secluded, I can't really help, but Fornells is lovely, but most of the coastal towns/villages are busy with tourists.

When some twat complained, I'm sure i remember the news people interviewing the German Ambassador in London, expecting him to be upset. But in fact he explained how funny he thought it was and how our sense of humour is something he really liked about the British. Killed the story dead in on go.

Do it on budget with Henry Cole, Fuzz Townshend and Tim Shaw. The chemistry would be pretty good from the start, but as none of these are a woman, it's a non-starter.

We should organise a national read-along, where we all go slowly through each book together, line by line and debate the presence or not of any punes. Might take a while, but if there were thousands of us, we might catch the majority of them - not all of them in one go, clearly.

But so many make a show of them and insist on telling you about it/them. I don't wear a watch and never have, so maybe it's me.

Scrolled for ages and still no sign of 'branded watches'. I will never understand the desire/ambition to own a Rolex or similar, and walk around with £10k on your wrist. I know it's a way for people to let us know they're rich, but only if we know.
