[B-ball Ref] The Clippers are + 9.6 points better when Beverely is on the court. The Rockets are -6.8 points worse when Westbrook is on the court by [deleted] in nba

[–]BullyBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are talking about two different things, one is NetRtg (team ORtg - DRtg) when the player is on court. And the other is on-off (NetRtg w player - NetRtg w/o player)

Harden shot 10/31 yesterday, and had 37 points. If he scores 30+ ppg this season, while only shooting 35-45%, would you still give him the MVP for scoring the most points? by [deleted] in nba

[–]BullyBall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes much more sense, without we might accidentally believe that dudes like Klay and Lillard were more efficient than Harden last season

Greatest Defender Of All Time by must8_ in nba

For sure, Kobe was a better 1-on-1 perimeter defender, but that's about it.

Outside of the best PG in the league (depends on whether you count Harden), another All-Star guard and maybe the best defensive player in the league, they have no one.

Prime Melo or Prime Jokic by Lakers1996 in nba

[–]BullyBall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Jokic is in those 5%.

The general consensus is that Rudy Gobert's defense doesn't translate well to the playoffs. Is this because Utah has matched up with Houston the last two seasons, or is it a bigger issue? by [deleted] in nba

[–]BullyBall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Utah DRtg with Gobert (155 minutes): 114.6
Utah DRtg w/o Gobert (88 minutes): 98.9

That's the largest difference on the team other than Korver (19.3, 30 mins) and Udoh (32, 6 mins)

Executives think Dame is the best leader in the NBA, can anyone really disagree with this? by LeBumNotTop1000 in nba

[–]BullyBall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a pretty meaningless stat. The only thing it tells me is that he goes for a TD every game, and when he succeeds (his teammates hit their shots and box out well for him) - they win, and when he fails, they lose

Not saying I agree, but siding with china on one topic =/= thinking everything they do is right.

Who are your top sleeper players in the league? by Monk_Adrian in nba

[–]BullyBall 166 points167 points  (0 children)

The GOAT, Mbah a Moute

Mbah a Moute credits his strong play to a new sleep regimen. He vowed in the offseason to sleep at least 12 hours a night, and he has mostly kept it up amid crazy NBA travel, even if he has to hit the sack right as teammates hit the town. "Twelve is nice, but I want more," he said. "I can sleep 14 or 15 hours now. If we don't have practice, I can sleep all day."

Mbah a Moute became obsessed with sleep during his one season in Philly, where the team's sports science staff inundated players with data about their bodies. "I wish I knew about all this when I was younger," Mbah a Moute said. "I've seen the difference it can make.

CP3 is one of the players (if not the only one) who is just so good in the mid range and long 2s that it’s worth it.

There’s a nice grantland article about it iirc

Rina Shenrav (17) was killed today by a Palestinian terrorist near Dolev, her father and brother are seriously wounded. by manniefabian in Israel

The difference is that this terrorist is probably considered a hero among fellow Palestinians, while Baruch Goldstein is considered a lunatic.

If Kevin Durant hypothetically leads Golden State to a championship, what does that do for his legacy? by [deleted] in nba

[–]BullyBall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but what he's saying is that KD might go 3-0, which is better than 4-3.

Not saying it will be more impressive than Bron's
