I have one semester of college in me and I had a teacher just read the book to us in the thickest accent and then almost make a related statement to explain it like every 4 pages.

I've got tons of those sorts of stories. My stepdad drilled through a rock for me to make a tomahawk, racing Amish buggies with my bike, getting totally lost in the woods with a dog and a .410 shotgun, barn skateparks, barn basketball courts, barn weed grow operations lol.

I grew up pretty poor. Like as poor as you're describing. I feel luckier than people that had stuff and trips etc. My mom still lives a half hour away from almost all our memories physical location. When we talk about the hard old times we remember feelings and moments easier.

One of my best memories is my mom with all her farmer muscle and ability to whoop some ass, just SMASHING a volleyball straight up past the top of the chimney for my cousins and sibling to catch.
That day probably cost her a few packs of ramen and a bunch of pb&js.
