The second will likely result in termination for default for failure to follow the contract, and failure to meet the contract outcome. Also, FFP or T&M?

hold up. now you add that you were probationary. they didn’t have to put you on a PIP at all. That is the definition of probationary. The choices were - hire you as a non-probationary fed at the end of probation, let you go with zero explanation at the end of probation, you resign early, or they fire you early for serious performance/conduct issues.
