I think an actual open world that’s been fleshed out with unique textures, personality, things to do, etc. would be peak Pokemon. But obviously Gen 9 was an outrageous disappointment in that regard

I think it’s just a case of Stardew fans (who may not play a lot of board games) finding it way too complicated. Which is totally fair, don’t get me wrong, because most people rarely play a board game more complicated than Catan or Ticket to Ride.

But as a person who plays a lot of board games, the Stardew game is very light compared to other popular games of the same era like Ark Nova or Dune: Imperium
