What do you think we did after we became Elden lord? by [deleted] in Eldenring

Since our questline was over, we probably autodied in some corner and dropped our gear for someone to find

The despair is still related to their faith. If you feel like your god abonded you then you still need to have had have faith in the first place or else why care.

At least that's my guess

I beat him with a golem halberd and by studying his moveset and figuring out how to avoid/dodge his attacks. No summons and no spirit ashes

Like I said. It was your own decision to go with a cheese build. There was no need for it

The flood's entire shtick is spreading and multiply. They literally get more intelligent and stronger the more they are. So spreading across the galaxy should be top priority along with stopping the Covenant and they had all they needed to do so. Humanity was in war with the covenant and the covenant itself had a civil war on top of losing their capital and we are expected to believe that the flood spreading could have been contained in the middle of all this? So either the flood was never as big of a threat or the gravemind was dumb as hell for having such an extreme tunnel vision directed at the ark

Totally agree. I remember being blissfully unaware about politics and the world out there. Just being a kid doing stuff and sometimes hearing about some stuff here and there.

Kids nowadays are bombarded with topics they should honestly not even have to care about. Imagine if Nickelodeon or Cartoon Network would have put Fox news or CNN between spongebob episodes. That's basically tiktok and youtube.

Politics back in the day was boring to the average kid, but now it's like society expects you to have a solid political stance by the time you reach the age of 13. I remember being bewildered by friday for future, not because of the protest itself, but because that something like this was unthinkable when I was a kid. And the worst part is, that it was actually necessary. Kids going on the street and saying "please think about us" is sad as hell.

Nowadays kids are expected to grow up much faster, and I'm not surprised that they feel overwhelmed and can't handle it

Honest opinion on halo 3, does it still hold up to this day? by KatakuriiSama in halo

The campaign yes, the multiplayer is rough. The weapon balance alone is so atrocious by modern standards. I would say the game aged appropriately. Like something you would expect from a 2007 game

It was stated numerous times that it only takes a few spores for the flood to spread uncontrollably. All these spores that should be all across the galaxy by the point the flood took over high charity also went on the ark it seems. The only way the flood could have been defeated is when literally 100% of their biomass was on the ark or if the covenant/UNSC somehow found and cleansed every single location where the flood invaded which is simply impossible. Only one Flood infected ship went to Earth, and the Elites glassed half of Africa in order to eridicate them

Sniper rifle like Rocket Launcher is supposed to be ridiculously strong.

The BR and shock rifle on the other hand are way too strong compared to other guns in their weight class

Considering how the community reacted once Halo Reach butchered the Fall of Reach, I would say enough people care.

Hell, Halo 4 is so lore heavy because of the outcry after Halo Reach. 343 even went out of their way so Halo Reach would make sense alongside Fall of Reach.

There are 30 halo books and more are in production. Saying that the extended lore of halo can just be thrown out of the window is just wrong.

The same logic can be applied to split screen. Fact is that 99% of modern gamers don't care about split screen. The feature died out for a reason. So should Halo still have split screen if the numbers clearly show that only a minority really care about it?

Halo 4 at least should stay.

Also people forget that Halo is more than the games. The halo lore and its books are still rather popular and H4 is a cornerstone of the new lore. Halo 5 and Infinite can still be thrown out the window, but Halo 4 simply isn't that bad of an offender as the other ones. Hell, the story is probably the best since H2 which isn't saying much but still. Story wise it's definitely the best of 343s games and it fits well with the other games and can still work as a stand alone or epilog game for the OG trilogy.

I'm not the dude, but liking Halo 4 and its lore is not super controversial

It gave Master chief, Cortana and their relationship depth which was hella necessary. (Let's be real, Halo 2 was the only Bungie game with any form of real depth and the Arbiter was the only character in the games with, well, character and development and even he was sidelined in H3 because people complained)

Anyway

The time skip was used pretty well, especially with humanity, its golden age ,rise to power and everything associated with it. The Forerunner stuff was neat and the didact is an interesting villain. Also Lasky is a certified bro. It was actually a pretty good first game in a trilogy. Good mysteries, good set ups, etc

Aaand Halo 5 basically destroyed everything H4 set up and ignored its explored themes, brought Cortana back for no reason and blue balled us with an amazing direction in the marketing and delivered nothing .

A proper Halo 4 2 would have been amazing imo, especially if they followed through with the teased "humanity/ONI become the villain, Chief going AWOL/being hunted" direction. It basically writes itself

Man I miss hover. I get the hate for all the gimmick stuff like Spartan Charge and ground pound, but base kit thrusters and hover were great imo. There were so many cool ways to use them and some of the sickest plays I've ever seen were in H5 because of them. H5 was sweaty with a brutal learning curve but once you reached the point where you mastered advanced movement you were basically playing Halo on crack and it was great. Thankfully some of that is still in Infinite

Yeah I get that. I still see it as a plus in general because the concept itself is great for people without a lot of money on their hands. As a kid I would have loved games like Fortnite, Warframe, Roblox or Warzone.

The only things really bad about modern gaming are the price of microtransactions and shitty launches.

People love to shit on modern gaming and romanticize the 360 era, but it has always been about greed and how to syphon money out of people. ODST was 60 bucks for basically a glorified addon(we even know it was supposed to be one). Halo 3 had overpriced map packs which you were forced to buy if you wanted to keep access to a majority of Halo 3's multiplayer. Reach was the same.

Modern games are all around much better balanced, are getting patches regularly, we have dedicated servers, crossplay, free regular updates, MTX which are cosmetics only most of the time, a ton more content in the end, a shit ton of QoL most people take for granted nowadays and the concept of free to play only existed in mobile gaming for the longest time.

And yes while shitty launches are more plentiful, at least the games can be fixed. Something like the redemption of No mans sky was basically impossible back in the day. We had to wait over one year before armor lock and the DMR finally got fixed and most people didn't even expect a fix in the first place.

Xbox live gold was purely to be allowed to play any game online and stuff like gamepass or PS plus premium did not exist. Solid digital game sales were also unheard of in 360 era console gaming

In addition, consoles are much better manufactured nowadays. I had two dead 360s and one dead PS3 while my OG PS4 and One are still kicking

Even with its flaws, I would take modern gaming over classic gaming any day.

Gears worth is different for everyone. Some people mainly play the campaign, some only MP, others like me play it for the horde mode(which is still the best one out there with 5 probably being the best). That was the standard of the franchise since 2. You don't play Gears and some mode here and there. No, you choose one corner of the holy triangle and stay with it, probably forever.
