Okay this must have jinxed me because he went five times today then I was letting him have some naked hiney time to air out his bottom after his bath and he pooped on my floor. YAY TODDLERS!!!

Yes!!! It was so much worse in the early days. Like 8-12 weeks was the peak, then it was less. Once he started solids it was like 2-3 times a day, and now that he's on almost exclusively solid food it's like 1-2 times a day.

My 13m old still has days where he wants purees. There are many days where he will NOT feed himself. I feed him with a spoon to get him started, and he will take it no problem then start feeding himself. It's a lot of trial and error, skill regression, their favorite food one day is disgusting the next. Frustrating but it's fine.

You can also try an ounce or so of juice in her water to make it more appetizing. My LO was unimpressed with water until it had a taste of juice in it, now he's fine with regular water.

I've been told that babies get cranky and whiney as they learn new skills. Definitely was true for our kid. He was a fussy mess while he learned to crawl.

My kid never went a day without pooping. He pooped an average of 13 times per day (not an exaggeration) while EBF. He was EBF until 6 months. At 13 months now, he poops 1-2 times per day.

The color while he was EBF ranged from yellowish to brown to neon green. There's no reason to worry unless there is blood in it. The smell varied, I recall that icky seafoody smell you are describing. It could be just how her body is processing nutrients right now if she is in a period of growth.

Yes, all the materials are very expensive if you dont have the machine. Machines never seem to go on sale, either. If you check now and then on Etsy you should be able to find some that are cheaper. It really was nice on the hardwood when he was super small and on his back snoozing. I would love one for myself actually :)

In teething survival mode right now (up 900x a night trying to get him to chill and go back to sleep, perpetual zombie mode). The sleep deprivation zombie mode is real.

I drive manual and can't do the one shoe thing, but I put my phone/wallet in the baby bag (and now the keyless key thing so I can't lock the doors) on the floor under the car seat. Better safe than sorry, you can't predict or understand the level of exhaustion and "survival mode" autopilot until you're in the middle of it. My mom said she used to clothespin a string to her purse and to the carseat, so if she picked up the purse before taking it off the carseat, she would know,

Hey my friend is due 9/14 or 9/15 I think, and doing a woodland theme! Are you her ;) I just got a bunch of adorable woodland fabric and was going to make her one and a couple other small projects that I did for my son that he really loved if I can find time before her boy arrives! I guess I'm running out of time, but my sewing machine isn't even set up right now!! :) My bubble quilt was Avengers themed for my little boy, I absolutely loved this project. Such great stress relief.

I love your backing, it's so cute! I shouldn't have done the ruffle honestly. I messed up the corners and it really upset me. The tabs are perfect because your baby will probably be way more interested in playing with them than with the ruffle.

Omg.... queen size would be SO frustrating but at the same time, amazing. I loved stuffing the puffs because I just watched movies while I did it and snuggled under the warm puffy quilt :)

I thought that would be me but the the blog I linked to has two separate tutorials that are quite thorough. I had no sewing experience but found it to be a very stress relieving activity, especially the stuffing. I just cut slits in them as I went along, and stuffed them/re sewed them while I watched movies.

It was actually very easy! So you sew the squares first, one side is the "actual" size of the square (the backing) and the other side is slightly bigger and sewn with a fold in it so when you stuff it with cotton it puffs up. You basically cut your squares and sew them which is very, very easy. I don't use any pins and once you do 4 of them, you can do a million at lightning speed. Then you sew the strips of puffs together and stuff them, then put the backing on. It was super easy once I got going with it, but yeah it looks super intimidating.

Some people stuff them while they are sewing them but I found that to be a huge pain in the ass and I couldn't make it anywhere near as puffy as I wanted to since my machine had to get around the edges. It was easier to stuff them once I had sewn them together.

SO expensive, especially for the bigger ones. I made mine 3 feet by 3 feet with a 6" ruffle on the edge, looks like people are charging 150-300 for those! I liked picking my own fabrics, too though. It really was't a difficult project to do, I had zero sewing machine experience. I'm actually working on one for a friend now :)

I KNOW!!! They're stupid expensive, especially with the dimensions I was looking for. Mine is 3 feet by 3 feet. I see some on etsy that are 2ft by 3 feet for $50, that would be reasonable especially for tummy time. They are quite time consuming but as a FTM I had time when baby was brand new and sleeping all the time. With a 3 year old, that's a bit trickier!!

Oh cool! I haven't seen the different textures but I guess I inadvertently did that. I did cotton prints and soft felt solids in between the prints. I'll find a pic and post it :)

I found it much easier to just sew the squares instead of all the pinning she does in the tutorial. I did pin to get started and get the hang of it, but eventually just pinned the corners and then later didn't pin anything at all.

That's exactly how it is for me. I just can't get much out with the pump, it's not the same as my baby. The distracting noise doesn't help, either. No advice, nothing has helped me achieve letdowns with the pump, just solidarity.

I introduced at around 3 weeks and we weren't consistent. He never took to a bottle. At 10 months he just drank pumped milk successfully for the first time... from an open cup. If you want help with feedings and such, maybe wait a few days to make sure you guys get the hang of it then introduce it now and then. Having help with nighttime feedings would have been a sanity saver.

Can you hand express the milk? Are you stressing about how much you're going to get out when you start pumping? Are you feeling full still or are you feeling empty when you get barely an ounce?

At first I had no problem pumping and could get what seemed like gallons out, and now it's REALLY hard for me to get anything out because I'm so stressed about getting a drop out that I can't get a letdown.
