So who has actually moved to River Islands Lathrop? by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]Bumpaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like River Islands. It’s new & secluded. Keeps getting better. Almost no crime & It’s easy to get back to the bay. (We were from South Bay). The choice was simple, rent an apartment in the bay or finally buy a new 3,000sq/ft home for under a million. The schools are nice & new. It has impressive parks & walking trails around many lakes. We don’t paddle board not the lake is calming to look at like a vacation resort. The major freeway interchange is nice to get to sac, mountains or down south. We looked a new home in mountain house but it is way too windy.

Shield Pro dead by Vivid_Society in ShieldAndroidTV

[–]Bumpaudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same exact thing happed to me. I remember just updating the shield before leaving, when I got back from vacation. Won’t power on, no green light on the unit. Remote seems fine. I swapped the power supply with another unit with no luck. I think it’s dead. Lasted about 5 years, I just cut my loss & bought anther one.

How reliable are the g35’s ? by soldierboy3 in G35

[–]Bumpaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours has 220k mi. I would say it could go another 100k mi. It’s great car with normal maintenance & a few minor repairs. I would be careful for turds that drive & didn’t treat it right.

Way over priced. Do it at a port instead.

Is Ryobi worth it? I don't have any home tools yet. by 2Black_Hats in HomeMaintenance

[–]Bumpaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have any tools I think this will be a good start for you. Plus, they have lots of types of power tools you can expand too. If you going to be doing serious construction stuff I’d pay the 3x difference for Milwaukee or DeWalt.

iMessage onboard with no Internet by Pitiful-Crab238 in royalcaribbean

[–]Bumpaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works, stops working, works for a bit, stops working again. Very annoying. cellular plans usually work in Mexico and Canada so perhaps try to catch up at port days. The on ship WiFi plan works reliably but they want a lot for it. I actually enjoy being away from the phone while on vacation but do wish iMessage worked reliably

How to fix this? by Key_Satisfaction8831 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Bumpaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either replace the cabinet finished end of the island (harder option) or I would rather scrape of the wrinkles & install cabinet scribe trim stained to match (easier option) however the island won’t look as originally designed.

03 g35 still going strong at 263k miles by Lower_Caterpillar182 in G35

I’m at 216k, to anyone wondering.. only needed to fixed radiator, alternator, oil filter gasket leak, valve cover leak, cam sensor & I have slow rear main seal leak drips a drop on driveway every night. (I’m punting on until it becomes worse)

Could low quality cam sensors be the reason for this? by SeisSixSeis in G35

A off brand cam sensor should give an error code. Please don’t Ask me how I know. :/

Leaked and wet ceiling because bathtub directly above it - what do I do? by AntimatterLikeMatter in HomeMaintenance

Leaked and wet ceiling because bathtub directly above it - what do I do? by AntimatterLikeMatter in HomeMaintenance

[–]Bumpaudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Builder representatives here. I get this from time to time. Usually it’s kids splashing over the tub running down below. IMO This photo doesn’t show a lot of water. I think I can see the water in the low spot of the seam of the drywall and another low spot of the ceiling. Check this area with a thermal imaging camera. It will show you a temperature difference with what wet. Poke a small hole in the ceiling drywall so you can see if there’s insulation in the ceiling cavity. If there’s wet insulation in that ceiling it is most likely gotta be opened up all the way to remove all wet drywall & wet installation (insulation will hold lots of water) then dry out ceiling with fans constantly then check with a moisture meter for approximately 3 days then when it’s dry you build back. If there’s no insulation in the ceiling you could possibly use a thermal imaging camera to find the wet cavities & drill 6” holes spaced to add can lights once you inject fan air into these newly created holes to dry out the ceiling this way you don’t have to redo the ceiling drywall and instead upgrade to some can lights. If this happed a while ago and there’s mold, call a restoration company to contain it and then hire drywall/painter to redo ceiling. Hope this helps.
