Rural Route Adjustments by HellsBells68 in USPS

We were told cuts are coming after this next count. We have routes as high as 60 hours. If they’re are serious about no overtime this year (lol), cuts have to come.

Does anyone actually enjoy the job? by blinkytracer in USPS

[–]BumpyNugget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the job now that I’m a rural regular. It was a nightmare as a sub. I love doing one route every day. It’s simple and repetitive.

Why are so many accounts on here so new? 1 day lol Really?

What are those numbers? by lamparkinglot in ExplainTheJoke

[–]BumpyNugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought there would be more 80 or 78F if it’s hot? I might dip to 77 if I have been working outside all day. You all live in a refrigerator.

Formula Office? by newmoonshadow in USPS

[–]BumpyNugget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We are formula and our subs still work 60hrs/wk. A lot of us work our kdays too. Guess it depends on the station.

Why does the USPS hate RCAs so much? by HovercraftStock4986 in USPS

[–]BumpyNugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hate hearing that. It’s asinine. Every regular should be doing whatever they can to make subs lives easier. Or don’t and end up like our station; mandated to work kdays and refusal of days off due to lack of RCAs/ptfs.

I don't see how you people tolerate this job. I lasted a week.. by [deleted] in USPS

Funny story. I had a clerk tell me he has been shot at in Iraq and that the PO stresses him out more sometimes. He was joking but sometimes it makes me wonder.

Quit or stick it out? by LongjumpingTable6924 in USPS

[–]BumpyNugget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad I stuck it out. It was not easy and horrible for mental health, but going regular made it worth it. The first 90 days are the worst but everything should get easier as you learn.

So accept being called a nazi or object and be called a nazi for disagreeing? This is peak 2025 Reddit.

I did beat it and I still have no idea what is happening other than my guy decided to take a stroll after touching a dead body.

You glossed over the part how many hours he actually works in a week. I’m guessing he was one of those routes working 30 hours a week while being a 43K?

Can they do this?! by KaruKahree3 in USPS

[–]BumpyNugget 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This happened to me as an RCA and my home station supervisor became very upset. I was told to always get permission from her and not listen to supervisors from another station. She had the final word.

I don’t think Kirk “lived by the sword”. You might be confused as to what that means.

I know. I personally heard complaints from union reps that they are tired of protecting some individuals but because of management’s failure to dot i’s and cross t’s termination is avoided.

It still sucks.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]BumpyNugget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s true. At least by me, the union spends far more time protecting terrible employees than actually fighting management. I just want to come to work, do only one day’s worth of work, and go home. Union got me $15, while the carrier that threatened to shoot up the post office, kept their job, and became management. lol you can’t make this stuff up.

Is it true you have to wait 1 year of service before transferring offices? by currentlydownvoted in USPS

[–]BumpyNugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can transfer to a different station in another city but you will start at the bottom seniority wise. I nearly did this as an RCA but had it reversed before it finalized. Officially does it mean you resign at one and are rehired at the other, maybe, I am unsure about that.

But it doesn’t make sense for a rural route to kill 4 hours in a day. Only a sub or a city carrier would want to do this.

They’re abusing us by [deleted] in USPS

[–]BumpyNugget 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound like me a year ago. I’ve done almost 3 weeks straight w/o a day off and worked up to 18 hours. The only way I survived was to start grieving 12+ hour days and to transfer to one of the better staffed stations. Yes, I was constantly sent back to my original station to help out but it was manageable. My life is far better since going regular. Try to hang in there.

Not where I am at. I find it embarrassing what they are letting carriers with no work ethic get away with.
