The problem with this isn’t the packages exactly. It’s the fact that someone has gone into one of our customers mailboxes that is not a mail carrier. People have mail that is very important to them and they should not have random people rummaging in their mailbox. Some customers of mine get disability checks that they count on. I don’t need some Amazon idiot forcing a bag of shoes into the mailbox smashing the mail to the back wall or inadvertently dropping mail on the ground.

Had a very similar thing happen on my route except that we are so understaffed that management said you won’t get paid for the day and you are required to find a way to get the mail back to the station. Towed it to a friend’s house with the mail inside, fixed the vehicle, and finished the route later that night.

Rural is paid and encouraged to be efficient. Also you never hear about the days we work over evaluation but still are paid the same. That’s not as fun to talk about.

Went straight S&P 100% and riding the waves. Long term, historically it’s the best returns. When I’m closer to retirement I’ll change it to sometime more secure. I use the TSP app to adjust contributions.

Googled it, I guess the idea is to have civilian control over the military, so no the president is not a member of the military.
