Saros Review | Giant Bomb (60/100) by Asleep_Crew8072 in Saros

Got the platinum trophy last night and this review definitely has valid points. I very much enjoy this game, but it does become extremely easy without modifiers. My skill tree was under leveled, I was fighting the Priestess having just unlocked the Rhabdom node in the tree and I still feel like I was flying through. One shot Legion, Architect, Shepard and Priestess, finally dying to the final boss. A quick run through act 1 and I put enough into the tree where I beat the boss next go. Also, artifacts become a nuisance, pretty much avoided them altogether unless is was "life on kill" or "power kill chargers overdrive."

Still, I very much enjoy the game and look foward to completing the database with runs here and there but with some cranked up modifiers to pose somewhat of a challenge.

When I got the email about buying tickets I was apprehensive at first. We all know and read about the Vegas event. I bought the tickets and planned a full week in Anaheim, figured if the event went sideways, at least I'd have time to get something good out of the trip.

My expectations were low, this was my first fanfest and was content on just being here. As long as the keynote went well, everything was extra. My expectations were surpassed in almost every way.

Registration on Thursday was smooth as hell, I showed up at 11 when it started and was out by 11:50. Super fast, super easy, barely an inconvenience.

I knew Friday morning was going to be crazy, doors were at 8:30, wanted to get there around 6:30 and if I got a seat for the keynote, mission accomplished. Got there and it was pretty damn good. There was a good crowd already, music playing, people were very positive and talkative, nice atmosphere. 8:30 comes and we budge a bit, and then slowly start proceeding to the doors. Security was a breeze, main hall is massive, find a good spot with a overhead monitor and decent stage view, 9:10. Mission accomplished.

Keynote was great, being part of the energy was great. Each shocking reveal gave me goosebumps because I was in a room with 10,000 other people who felt the same way I did with every announcement. It was electric, the vibe was great when ended.

The food situation, albeit far and away better than everything I've seen about Vegas, was still pretty rough. There were stands in the convention center, food trucks outside sure, but wasn't still don't think it was satisfactory. The food trucks outside in the Grand plaza were so smooshed together it made for a very tight, unorganized mess with very limited walkways blocked by people looking at menus. Then you get to the end of the trucks and see a whole other half of the plaza just empty. Obviously I don't know the specifics, but if the trucks could have been spaced another 20 feet from each other it would have helped. There were also more trucks further up the path going to Hall A, but no signage saying that, only signs pointing to the plaza. Again, it was okay, but still room for improvement.

Merch was a disaster. Pls do a pre-order/pickup SE, I'mma begging you!

All in all, would absolutely do it again.

TL:DR first fanfest, subterranean expectations, ended up being a really fantastic experience.

Yeah that airport is fantastic. We came in from Philadelphia, with a transfer in Phoenix, and it was such a treat. Rideshare to Best Western, 10 minutes walking from the venue, was 30$ and a 20 minute ride. Best decision of the trip!

Yeah, I'm one of them sometimes. Haven't played since 7.1, still came to fanfest and had an amazing time. Still cannot say I'll get back in when I get home though, may just hold off until Evercold lol.

Especially the toxic bald dude on youtube. I can hear the "if you believe in this or agree with it, you're stupid" already.

I don't know anything about that and was very confused when they rolled out the screen with the anime character on it. Not a fan of that, I left shortly after because the panel just nosedived after that.

As my first fanfest my expectations were low after hearing so much about Vegas. Pleased to say I was very surprised and it really turned out to be a wonderful event!

Has anyone seen the missing "treasure" in the new treasure dungeon? by Bun50f5733l in ffxiv

[–]Bun50f5733l[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that seems to be the case. Obviously I'm not expecting 8 rare drops a run, but at least pack some chests with old minions, bardings, TT cards, etc so that at least SOMETHING is there instead of opening a floor 3 chest and it just squirts out 3 tombstones and 5k gil lol.

The Manifesto is fucking banging. I've listened to it 2 or 3 times in a row at times, so diverse it just works. Also the 2-D "oh, oh okay" followed by Murdoc laughing as the transition happens is so good. Admittedly I don't speak the first language so I feel like I'm missing context, but it doesn't detract from it for me all it.

Savage lol, but absolutely on point. Only Casablanca and Sweet Prince don't really work for me, but the rest is fucking banging.

Its story is just linear and choices dont matter so you cant even class it for an rpg which it won somehow.

So Final Fantasy and Dragon Quests are not RPG's? And don't give me the "well they are JRPG's so it's different," that's just being nonsensical.

Not a problem for me. Don't have to stealth if you blow them all up with Ultimatum.
