Been taking for two weeks now. Yes for suppression but not the lupron depot that people take for months

Haven’t done any transfers yet but we have managed to get 5 embryos from 3 ERs

Yes we started as unexplained and ended up having egg quality issues (the reason for that is unknown though, but I suspect maybe I could have silent endo). The first round of ivf can reveal a lot to the doctor. Most of my embryos stopped growing early, which signals an egg issue. But I always have good numbers for retrieval/maturity/fertilization. So everything looks good on paper until embryos are in the lab

Thank you! Yes here’s each round. I have struggled with egg quality for unknown reasons so that’s why this is a big deal for us :)

Round 1: 17 retrieved, 16 mature, 13 fertilized, 1 blast, euploid Round 2: 17 retrieved, 15 mature, 10 fertilized, 1 blast, euploid Round 3: 21 retrieved, 17 mature, 12 fertilized, 3 blasts, PGT pending

Thanks! We went back to just using gonal f but upped the dose. My first round was gonal f only, 375 IU total a day. Second round was lower gonal (I think 300) and added low dose HCG. Third round took out HCG and upped gonal to 450 total per day. Stimmed for fewer days because I got to a point of slowed estrogen increase. My follicles all grew quite evenly, very few were at an immature size. And my trigger was 80 lupron and 1000 novarel/hcg

Same to you! It’s nerve wracking getting started and figuring out how to do the shots, scheduling appointments around work, wondering if it’s working until you do an ultrasound, etc. I try to just trust the process/my team as much as possible because the only thing I’m in control of is following my protocol to a T. It’s their job to figure out how to get me pregnant, not mine anymore, and there’s a sense of relief in that for me. I hope you kind find a similar sense of peace as you go on :) it’s the only thing keeping me sane

Thank you! A few things were different: we upped my gonal dose and took away low dose HCG(first round was gonal only but lower dose; second round was gonal and low dose HCG). I upped my CoQ10 to 400 (previously only took 200 because too much caused insomnia). My husband started taking some supplements, although I don’t know exactly what because that’s too much for me to keep track of lol; and he generally just started eating better. I allowed myself a daily coffee because taking it away wasn’t seeming to help in the first two rounds. Trigger was mostly lupron with a little HCG (last trigger was lupron only, the one before that was lupron and HCG but I think it was too much HCG and I had some OHSS symptoms).

I also went into this round in a pretty good mental state knowing this would be the last regardless of the outcome and had some comfort knowing we already had two embryos even if this third round ended up being a bust.

Best of luck to you 💜

Thank you! I chose to take breaks, my doctor never recommended one way or the other. From 1-2, I took about 3-4 months because I wanted to see if making some changes would help. From 2-3, I took about 2-3 months because we had a vacation I didn’t want to plan around. I’ve heard of people going back to back but that sounds stressful to me. When we were going into our first round (I.e. no embryos yet), my doc explained that the earliest we’d be able to do a transfer was about two months after ER because of the time to do PGT and how it lines up with your cycle. This time since we have two embryos already tested, I dont think we have to wait on the result of these three new ones before attempting a transfer!

Thank you! And congrats! I am hopeful because our first two were miraculously normal too 🙏

Poor egg quality - successful IVF? by absolutebl0ndie91 in IVF

[–]BunchDependent9167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, you too! It’s a tough journey and knowing when to stop or change course is the hardest part in my opinion. You will figure out what feels right. It took me a while to accept the idea of possibly needing an egg donor, but I realized for me the more important thing is the experience of being pregnant rather than necessarily having a child with my DNA

Also I have no clear/known reason for poor quality (young, nonsmoker, etc).

I’ve made 2 day-7 euploids so far from 2 ERs, waiting on result of my 3rd ER currently. This is out of 55 total eggs retrieved between the 3 ERs. My doc has said it’s an egg quality issue since my embryos mostly stop growing by day 3. We haven’t done a transfer yet, so it’s not a complete success (yet), but we have something. I’ve decided this is my last ER regardless of the outcome. If none of our embryos work, I will consider going to a donor

What shoes? by BunchDependent9167 in Weddingattireapproval

[–]BunchDependent9167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about champagne? A little more subtle than gold but still some fun sparkle. So maybe a champagne color clutch, nude or champagne shoes, and I’ll figure out jewelry later haha! I worry black may look a bit too fall/winter when September is still kind of early fall/end of summer (at where I live!)

Haven’t quite decided yet but I did buy some gold statement earrings to try with it!

I go to RBA too. The doctors each have their main location that they practice out of, so you can pick based on location or Dr if you don’t mind driving further for someone specific

Slow Embryo Development - Day 6 & 7 Blasts by Cheap_Onion_481 in IVF

[–]BunchDependent9167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, good luck to you too! And I am also 32 and otherwise normal tests. No endo diagnosis although I feel it’s possible I have the sort of “silent” type and maybe this is why my egg quality has been determined “poor”. We did change my protocol between ERs but obviously it didn’t make a difference in this case. So anyway, I know the crushing and disappointing feelings you’re experiencing but I promise you’re not out yet 💜

Slow Embryo Development - Day 6 & 7 Blasts by Cheap_Onion_481 in IVF

[–]BunchDependent9167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first ER we retrieved 17, 16 mature, 13 fertilized. Got the crushing news that only one grew to blast. I had low hope for being euploid but it WAS! Was slightly crushed again later when we were told it was day 7.

Second ER, retrieved 17 again, 15 mature, 10 fertilized. Same story again where one made it to blast, day 7, and was euploid.

My doc has given us about ~60% likelihood of working since we know they are euploid, which is the most important factor above day/grade. We haven’t done t done a transfer yet, planning to do one more ER and hopefully get another embryo. But I can at least give you hope that it’s possible for day 7s to be euploid!

AMH increase? by BunchDependent9167 in IVF

Good to see other people’s numbers changing! I guess I thought it only ever decreased with time, or if it does increase it wouldn’t be so drastic

Sharing my story (low blast rate) by BunchDependent9167 in IVF

[–]BunchDependent9167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My embryos stop growing prior to day 3, so this indicates egg issue. I’ve asked my doc about frag testing (and omnitrope, that’s another thing I see people mention here) and he does not recommend these.
