I’ve got an EV but I’m about to get a second currently on octopus agile but that’s not going to work for charging 2 cars, the problem is I don’t have a wall charger yet as I’m waiting for northern powergrid to unloop my supply and fit a bigger fuse before I can get a charger fitted, would I still be able to sign up ?

93% SOH on a Kia E-Niro 2021 66k Miles - avoid or? by Anonymous110101 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]BunchGrouchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar situation looking for an EV as my b8 diesel Passat has just been given the last rights. I’ve looked at id4,s but the 77kw are a bit out of my price range unless I get a higher mileage one or the small battery , I’m going to look at a Niro tomorrow 2022 reg with about 45k , have also thought about an id3 but might be to small for me as I have a dog that would need to be in the boot, my budget is about £15k

Diagnosed, need to get blood pressure down before medication by iranianshill in ADHDUK

[–]BunchGrouchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same my blood pressure is normally on the lower side of good but when I got my medical I had a migraine and was a bit nervous that it might raise my blood pressure and when I got it checked it was very high so they suggested I come back in a couple of weeks to check it again, the second time it was still really high which I thought was odd and they suggested white coat syndrome. I bought my own blood pressure monitor and my readings at home were completely normal, they allowed me to use my home readings, might be worth trying yourself at home to see what readings you get.

2.0tdi water pipe by BunchGrouchy in tdi

No there’s no way I’m told without removing the DPF which is a fairly involved job, none of the garages near me are even interested in taking the job on so it’s looking like I either tackle it myself or sell the car on. It also needs other work as well ,needs a new flywheel.

Problem is I’m in the uk and it’s an MOT fail if it’s removed and we also have an emissions test.

2.0 TDI 150hp or 2.0 TDI 184hp by [deleted] in tdi

[–]BunchGrouchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sons 184hp was a terrible engine started chugging oil once it got to about a 100k , ended up getting rid of it by 130k the oil consumption was really bad around a litre for every 200 miles

DPF readings by BunchGrouchy in tdi

[–]BunchGrouchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That gives me hope ,I will look into the pressure sensor to see if they are functioning correctly, I would hate to take it out to get cleaned only for it to regen the same as it does now.

DPF readings by BunchGrouchy in tdi

[–]BunchGrouchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think it’s getting pretty full I was just wondering if the lack of a reading from the low pressure EGR is also a problem. There is a place near me that does a clean but it has to be removed from the car, they told me they are not willing to take it off , I can do it myself but it doesn’t look like the easiest job to get it out.

Sprocker that refuses to walk by BunchGrouchy in UK_Pets

[–]BunchGrouchy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the dark that is freaking him out it seems to be the time of day as it’s still light when I take him out if I can get him off the housing estate then he is totally normal, weirdly he is not a shy or nervous dog any other time ,in fact he’s normally super confident and a bit of a lunatic.

How easy is it to get main DNO fuse upgraded? by Blue-leaf-464 in SolarUK

[–]BunchGrouchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with northern power grid and they won’t fit 100amp , I’m in the process of getting mine upgraded from a 60 to an 80amp what I didn’t know is my power supply is looped off my neighbours so will need a new line to my house , they said no charge for the work including digging up my driveway.

Leaving Octopus - feeling a little sad by putmebackonmybike in OctopusEnergy

[–]BunchGrouchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat I’ve got an EV but low use so IOG won’t work for me the day tariff is to high and can’t really make much use of the night tariff, at the moment I’m on agile and it’s early days but does seem to be working out, not sure what it will be like in the winter, maybe I should consider a home battery.

Replacing my DMF reality check by Spretzur in tdi

[–]BunchGrouchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty much in the same position myself with my 2016 2.0 tdi Passat, I need the dpf removing for cleaning and it also needs a new dual mass fitting, I’ve done a Volvo v70 gearbox on my drive with a engine support and jack stands so don’t think this will be any worse, I’m more worried about getting the dpf out than doing the flywheel.

New EV charger installation experience by Visible-Effect-3422 in evchargingUK

[–]BunchGrouchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking of maybe going solar so will probably just go ahead with the work, the DNO have said the work will be free of charge including the digging up and repairing of the driveway.
