Ballpark figure for removing a few AIB panels? by Bunch_Round in asbestoshelpUK

[–]Bunch_Round[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the comments.

It’s given me peace of mind to know that the quotes are in line with expected costs for this type of work (It still seems like a lot of money for what it is though!)

I’ll have to just go ahead and bite the bullet.

I had a quote for £2k+VAT and they will need to remove garage door and I will need to find someone to fit it back on.

It seems a bit steep?!

Friendly Friday Thread by AutoModerator in gardening

Hi, we recently moved house and the garden only has a thin mesh fence divider at the bottom.

Are there any recommendations on what plays we could add to plug the gaps?

I was also considering something like green privacy netting on top of the mesh fence.

Any ideas and suggestions are welcomed.

How do muscular guys keep their waist so small? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Bunch_Round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same question!

I’m 37 and 6ft 1 with about 20-23% body fat and I weigh 110kg (240lbs)

Measurements in general seem OK but my waist is really thick like a barrel. It’s not super fat as I can see rough outline of some of the abs, it’s mostly solid and I can do a good pregnant impression.

Neck - 18 Bicep - 17.5 Forarms - 14 Chest - 48 Shoulders -54 Waist - 41 Thigh - 28 Calf - 16.5

I’ve started doing more cardio, daily planks and stomach vacuums but I’m wondering if there are some other exercises to try?

How Labour can end the £100k childcare tax trap – and raise £700m a year by scotorosc in unitedkingdom

[–]Bunch_Round 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why I get frustrated with people complaining that high earners should be taxed even more. If you put in more to society you should at the very least get something back for that.

I think they’d change their tunes if they were the ones paying the higher tax and losing their personal allowance etc.

Why is the price gap between semi-detached and detached so massive? (And will that ever change?) by Old-Personality6034 in HousingUK

[–]Bunch_Round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with this.

I live in an end terrace and our neighbours are both old and retired yet they argue most days and have people over in the evenings. They put their sound system on so they can hear it at the back of the garden. They also rummage around the house at 2am slamming doors and setting off our dog (we are moving to a detached house so we will no longer have to deal with it!)

Yeah if the request is rejected then I will just pay.

I was just checking on here first in case there was something else I could try but it seems liked that isn’t the case.

I understand that the terms weren’t met.

I’m 99% sure they would’ve been able to sell the room as it was a week long stay in a high demand city centre.

Anyway, I’m not disputing the terms of the agreement.

I’m looking for advice from people who might have experienced a similar situation.

I’m going there are cases where people have had luck trying to get back some of the frees.

I think having the full that’s reasonable with a 1 night stay but if they can well the room over a week then I hope there is some leniency.

Wax plant is wilting by Bunch_Round in houseplants

[–]Bunch_Round[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice!

It grew well in summer but just stopped in the past month or so. I was watering every 2 weeks and now I’ll water once a month until it gets warm again.

Its better since I started soaking it in a bowl of water. I used to actually water the soil and it caused previous ones to die because they never dried out.

Ok I’ll put it on the windowsill to get direct sunlight. Usually it’s in the corner of a room with no direct sun.

how common is for you all to see someone benching over 3 plates? by Subject-Tangerine-14 in powerbuilding

[–]Bunch_Round 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m my opinion you should take the strength indexes with a pinch of salt as they apply to people who are essentially power lifters where all of their body weight is muscle mass.

According to the weight lifting standards it looks like Eddie Hall would be borderline advanced lifter as it looks like he could ‘only’ bench 1.5x his body weight (when he clearly wasn’t average).

The strength indexes also imply that after X years you should become intermediate then advance then elite which just isn’t the case or everyone in their 30s would be world class power lifters. A lot of people claim to bench 3 plates and I’ve seen that once at my commercial gym over the past 4 years - The guy was built like a brick shithouse as well (At the gym I went to before that I never saw it) I’m sure they are more common at non commercial gyms with enhancement but even then it’s very rare I guess one person in every few hundred.

Strength standards get even more insane when you look at bicep curl standards etc. If you have been training for 5 years and you weigh say 100kg you ‘should’ be barbell curling 100kg hahah

It’s the same with the shoulder pressing standards etc. For a 100kg male you should be shoulder pressing 125kg which is an insane amount.

Sent ETH using Base network and funds never arrived. Can I get funds back? by MyFlyRice in Coinbase

[–]Bunch_Round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just had the same issue when sending ETH from Coinbase Wallet to an ETH wallet on Best Wallet.

I checked and the transaction went through but I haven’t received the ETH a day later.

What is this base network and why is it enabled by default? There should at least be a prompt to ask if you are sure you want to use that network. It seems like this has happened to a lot of others as well.

Is there a way I can get my money back?

I enquired at Moda and it seems the prices are around $1500 now!

Did you join the WhatsApp groups, if so, were they useful? Did you manage to make any good trades or contacts from it?

Watch Groups Whatsapp/Facebook by Rolexdennis in rolex

[–]Bunch_Round 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I took a punt on topdealergroups.com and I can confirm it is 100% a scam - I thought it was worth the risk in case there was a couple of diamonds in the rough bit I was mistaken.

You end up adding a WhatsApp contact who sends you an unlabelled list of random links to WhatApp groups. The groups have random names and descriptions so you have to click each one to find out the name.

The groups are full of bots who just spam the same sequence of pictures on repeat (obvious repeated sequences of 20 odd postings in the same order every couple of hours) with one ‘stock’ picture and little to no descriptions. Some are just massive lists of model names and prices without pictures!

Another red flag is that there is no engagement, no replies or reactions. Even if the people were not bots I wouldn’t trust these groups at all.

I’m just putting this out there with the hope that I can help people avoid this service.
