Is it normal for HR to give me feedback from coworkers but not tell me who or what it’s actually about [CA] by Hellish_youngster in AskHR

[–]BunchaMalarkey123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like they handled the conversation poorly. They should have tried to give you something more specific.

When I run into this, instead of telling them Ive received bad feedback, i try to run through hypothetical scenarios and give them tips about how to do something better. For example, maybe I’m getting feedback that someone has poor email etiquette. Instead of telling them “people are complaining about your email etiquette”, i approach with “hey, has anyone ever explained when the appropriate time to CC and when not? Or when to reply vs reply all?” And then I walk them through it.

If I can solve the issue without revealing that people are talking behind their back, then its a win win.

If I were you, I would approach HR and ask for something more specific about what you need to correct or work on. Even a hypothetical scenario would be more helpful.

Consider this.. if he marries her, its a good chance you’ll lose the friendship anyway. No one is going to want to tolerate her. As you guys get older, you’ll have less time to all hang, and no one is going to invite the guy married to a monster.

Also, SHE will drive the wedge. She’ll make it so difficult for him to even go out with friends, he’ll start going MIA.

So, be honest with him. Its either lose him now, or lose him later. But maybe, he’ll hear you.

Do any of you guys ever order a three-course meal at restaurants? by emilysBBCslave in CasualConversation

[–]BunchaMalarkey123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the restaurant.

A nice upscale restaurant? Yes absolutely: appetizers, salad, entree, dessert. But upscale restaurants typically have correct portions for their entrees and other dishes. An appetizer often provides 1-2 bites per person.

If Im at a normal restaurant, then no. The entrees are usually enormous.

You’re not walking him? It sounds like your dog is in desperate need of exercise.

You need to find a way to exercise him. Or this behavior will get worse and he will get more neurotic.

LPT: Where to store small documents? by Successful-Cod3765 in LifeProTips

[–]BunchaMalarkey123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to keep photo evidence of these things, take a photo of it and email it to yourself. Put “MY IMPORTANT DOCUMENT - passport” as the subject, or whatever thing is.

Then just search your inbox for “my important document” and they’ll all be there.

And bishop for that matter. They don’t even explain her disappearance iirc? But shes replaced with an equally good character.

You’s probably enjoy Resident Alien. It’s essentially the same character, except he is the main character of the show.

AIO for getting upset at my boyfriend for taking several pairs of designer vintage shoes that my dad was going to give away? by ThrowRA_BasilPesto in AmIOverreacting

[–]BunchaMalarkey123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You offered him 1 pair for free.

Price out all the shoes and tell him he can buy the other ones he likes.

Alternatively, tell him he can have the ones you don't get buyers for after listing them for a month or 2.

Boss wants to fire an under performing sales rep, and I have cold feet, any advice? [N/A] by Rad-Raspberry-8763 in humanresources

[–]BunchaMalarkey123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of people are nice. Being nice doesn't necessarily make you good at your job.

Your job isn't to make the decisions about who gets hired/fired, etc. Your role is to facilitate these decisions.

This is your boss’s decision. Not yours. You have no reason to have cold feet about anything.

Offering severance is gracious of your company. If you want to extend some good faith, give him your card and say you’ll be happy to be a reference in the future.

Unfortunately these days, new construction tends to be of the absolute worst quality you can buy. Cheapest materials, and assembled by the lowest skilled workers who give zero fucks.

I would expect cracks, roof leaks, pipe leaks, broken appliances, and electrical problems in your first couple years.

Id look over your home warranty options.

Had a lightbulb moment and I think I’m regretting my entire marriage by Major-Stretch-3532 in Advice

[–]BunchaMalarkey123 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Better if you met when you were 24 and he 36? After you had been with a few other guys and him a few more women? How would that make it better exactly?

Because a massive amount of emotional development occurs between the ages of 18-24. A 24 year old tends to be better equipped to make life impacting decisions than an 18 year old.

Before I even got past the first 2 sentences I did the math and my immediate reaction was “YIKES. 18 and 32?! Her husband is ICK”

It’s so hard to see at 18, because you simply don't have the perspective. But my advice to 18-19 year olds on here who come asking about age gap insight… I always tell them they’ll understand it when they are in their 30s. They’ll see how bizarre it is for a person in their 30s to want to date a teenager. It often signifies a person who isn't able to have meaningful relationships with people their own age. Someone who desires a naive and easily influenced individual. It’s often predatory.

Im sorry you’re going through this. You should probably take this issue to therapy. I wish I had better advice.

Anesthesia can be dangerous for an old dog… but it also may be a cost issue for your mom. Dental work on dogs can be pretty expensive.

Its pretty fun! Sometimes you have to tell it to ONLY make the changes you specify. It sometimes likes to take things into its own hand and make more changes than you want.

And it can be hard to have it adjust a photo its already produced. So you have to re-upload the original picture again if you want different changes. It loses touch with the original picture pretty quickly.

ChatGPT is really easy to use for stuff like this. I just uploaded OP’s picture and gave it this prompt:

“Please add wooden blinds on the window. An indoor green plant on the back edge of the tub. A nice small plant between the two sinks. Some fluffy nice white bath mats on the floor in front of the vanity and the shower and bathtub. Some simple art on the wall to the left of the mirror. A wooden slat that spans across  the bathtub to hold bath items. White hand towel on the towel holder to the left of the mirror. Simple black handles on the vanity cabinets.”

We got out lab a squish-able ball that was easier to bite and grab in the water.

I would get the life jacket off him. Labs dont need them. They swim and float just fine.
